Re: Which is your preferred trim system?

Click bar is honestly really good. Besides the click trim system the no-front-line-twisting feature is really super cool (I’ve never seen any of the other brands “auto-untwist ever actually reliably working). It’s obviously expensive and obviously a luxury: nobody “needs” it, but if you can afford i...

Re: Kite company's are out of their minds

I don’t see the scandal. Yes, kites are obviously “overpriced” vs. manufacturing cost. Yes, real innovations are now mostly marginal. Yes, each year every kite is the new “do it all” machine. But it is all pretty obvious, and no one on earth forbids us to buy last seasons’ kites at heavy discounts. ...

Re: Officially announced: North becomes Duotone

I’ve not followed the thing and I don’t understand how what I perceived to be the best selling brand could shut down, obviously I was wrong. Whatever, “duotone” is possibily the worst brand name I’ve ever witnessed: it sounds like a drug to be used in chemiotherapy. Somebody please fire the brand ma...

Re: Mauritius - intermediate waves?

Been there June 2017. I can almost 100 % confirm Strekke´s view. Manawa is about 1.5 km offshore. Wind is typically cross-offshore and not always stable. If anything out there goes wrong or the wind fades, you´ll quickly be dragged into oneye by the strong currents there. Where you´ll probably drow...

Re: Madagascar - late October

I’ve been to Mad last Summer, in August. - Went to Babaomby first, which is quite a special out of this world spot. It really is something special. - then spent a week in Mantasaly, which is a nice spot, nice resort, but zero “magic”. Wind in August was close to extreme, constantly between 30/40s , ...

Re: Soloshot 3 - soup to nuts review

From what I keep on reading the thing is fundamentally flawed for kiting in mid to high wind conditions: the hardware seems flawed and unfixable, and the software is still buggy as hell from what I read, and it’s almost a year after release. A potential solution might be the Soloshot Pro, which woul...

Re: Soloshot3 a New way to film kiting

Anybody have any updates on using the SoloShot3? I tried mine the other day at the beach. It tracked me well while I launched the kite, but as I waded into the water the camera slowly drifted so that finally I was out of the field of view. I toggled the camera and tracking on and off throughout the...

Re: Hand drags getting yanked

Thanks for the tip as I’m also learning slides and drags, but I need to sort out a truly basic fact as I’m not into loops.. I’m not yet clear on how the two major actions affect power and speed of the loop: 1) little steering vs fishpooling , and 2) how much you pull the bar (not talking about steer...

Re: Soloshot3 a New way to film kiting

What I don't understand that they don't offer an adapter for other cameras yet...my camera is much better...dont mind the non zooming...will keep filming with my Soloshot2... Toby, have you tested the Soloshot 3? are you saying that at the moment you are getting better results with Soloshot 2 and y...
