Re: Flysurfer Soul

So for light wind foiling, 8-10 knots, what are people's preference, the 12 or the 15 Soul? I'm 80 kg (176 lbs) using both surf and race wings.

Re: Tube vs Softkite - an epic battle?

Same with me TomW, I bought a race foil and the flapping of the single strut kites was a pain, and worse limited the top speed of a fast foil. I have since bought an Ozone Edge as an experiment, not as much flapping and a higher speed but as you go through 40kph it is noticeable. I'm with you, the f...

Re: Removing struts to make big old kite lighter?

Works well, done a few kites now for foiling. Will destroy you top end stability, the things flutter a lot, but that's totally irelavent for foiling. 10 mtrs and below seem to work better, did a 12 mtr but it had little better low end than the 10 for foiling, maybe 1 knot. I have been cutting up old...

Re: Foil Kite advice Chrono, Hyperlink, Soul

i’m 80kg riding a Levitaz Bionic, seems others are getting a lot more speed out of the Hyperlink. Probably just need more wind, but our location doesn’t allow for fast foiling in much over 15 knots. We get a large chop running and it is hard to stop the foil from breaching in the chop even on a 1100...

Re: Foil Kite advice Chrono,Hyperlink, Soul

Tried the Hyperlink 12, nice and stable, very easy to use. After recently purchasing a race foil I now find the kite is a limiting factor, the Hyperlink managed about 20 knots on a reach, the foil is probably capable of 30-35 knots. I'm guessing a Chrono/Sonic in an 11 mtr would be a better option, ...

Re: Naish 2019 Foil Lineup

I don't think many people have seen this, let alone ridden it as it hasn't been release yet.

Re: Hyperlink size recommedation

Just off the water, borrowed the shops HL 12 mtr in standard cloth. Naish medium surf wing on 25 mtr lines in 8 knots of wind. Although not fast the kite is very stable, drifts downwind during turns with minimal tip tuck. Maxed out at 31kph (17 knots). Can't imagine ever needing a larger kite for su...

Sorry, my error. Obviously at a stage where it will start consuming a large amount of cash.

Re: Best way to make a prototype

I've built a couple of carbon home builds and seen several more built in the local area, the funny thing is that they all worked to some extent. Some broke, some were unstable, most were fairly ugly, but they all flew and were usable. So whatever you design will work, it is the fine details such as ...

Re: Are there foot hooks that don't %*-"@! break?

Tried the hooks but they broke. I now use a front strap that runs across the board attached to both outer front footstrap locations. The strap is tight, I can't put my foot all the way in, just a few toes but enough for waterstarting and you never get caught in a crash. It also is soft on the feet a...
