Re: Pansh Aurora II vs A15me

Thanks foilholio, this will be my 5th foil kite, still a bit of an experiment. Still working out whether to run a 5th or use brake lines as a safety. Not possible with larger sizes but on a 3.5 just using the brakes might work

Re: Pansh Aurora II vs A15me

On a 3.5 mtr kite, only used for foiling so in its lower wind range, is a depower bridle required? That is the question.

Re: Do you disassemble your foilboard after each use?

I have a Naish alloy foil, 12 months of use. I kite in salt water, leave assembled with the board as it fits in the car that way. Quick rinse with a hose when I get home and only disassemble once every two weeks for regreasing. I use grease on joins and screws, it’s cheap and you can use plenty, no ...

Re: Self Landing Foilkites in 20+kts

Strange that for many year Flysurfer fitted FDS (5th line) to its kites a standard, seemed to be when kites were supplied and fitted with bars permanently attached. Self landing in almost any wind was relatively straight forward with little chance of problems. Even in stronger winds on my 10 mtr Psy...

Re: Pansh vs cloud c5 13.5

My Pansh Aurora 12 mtr takes on water fairly quickly when given a swim, hence replacing it with a FS Soul 12 mtr. Can’t comment on the cloud light wind relaunch.

Re: Mast length pros vs cons

Also depends a lot on what wing you are using. Some larger wings don’t drop much when they ventilate, so a 70 cm works just fine and feels more playful. If I fit my smaller wing to the 70 mast it is a real pain, lots of ventilation crashes during transitions etc. So it really depends on what setup y...

Re: Flysurfer Soul

Just picked up my 12 mtr Soul, no FDS connections? I’m used to using FDS during self landing in stronger winds, FLS has always been a bit of a pain to use in upper wind ranges.
How does the FLS perform on the Soul during self landing? Should I fit a FDS system, my bar is already set up for FDS.

Re: Soul 12M in low wind behaviour

Sounds like inexperience, smaller foil kites need to be kept moving in lighter winds, keeping the bar out to maintain speed and gently using the brakes so as not to stall the kite. As for hindenberging, foil kites have low drag and will shoot over your head if allowed to in light wind. Always pull t...

Re: Packing up a foil kite with wet bar

I used to do the same as Janus, once folded in 1/3’s the kite goes into the bag, the bar gets washed under a tap and the strapped to the outside of the bag to dry. Now with a carbon bar I can forget the bar wash bit.
