Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

Easy enough to mount a low friction ring on the side of a carbon tube without drilling holes, a Kevlar tape/epoxy wrap would be quite adequate as there is bugger all load. Bar ends would probably come from an existing bar. Foam grip is easy to apply on a straight tube. The result would be a strong, ...

Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

So more in the interests of weight saving, rather than chicken loop bye bye, a carbon bar rather than the current heavy alloy offerings from the major manufacturers. Best used to do them but I guess cost and ease of manufacture has stopped the idea. The question is, does the bar need a hole in it fo...

Re: board - how to MacGyver connection?

Just elongate the holes slightly, only .o6" on each hole then add a washer under the head of the screw.
Or, build a new plate, cut the old plate off and bond on the new plate. Not that hard to do.

Re: How much are old kites holding me back?!

Not too hard to analyse a poorly flying kite. If the tips are tucking try adding extra LCL extensions at the leading edge bridles at the tips, say 2 cm on the A's and 1 cm on the B's. These are very lightly loaded bridles so tend to shrink. Bridles on foils stretch and shrink at different rates over...

Re: Best bankrupt?

Rebirthing my 2009 Nemi's into single struts for foiling, they work well, The thin leading edge is light weight so the 10 mtr is now 2.8 kg and drifts really well. Currently my favourite foiling kite. Thanks Best.

Re: Vacuum pumps

If your repair is convex rather than concave, just lay up as you would for standard vac bag eg, peel ply and breather, then wrap tightly with clear packing tape. The packing tape has quite a lot of stretch and provides good pressure. You can even add extra breather, wood blocks and clamps for more p...

Re: Pansh Aurora II 10m - one item off bucket list

All flysurfers have adjustable mixers, over time bridles shrink and you need to do the mixer test, see https://vimeo.com/9488886 For jumping and float having the knots aligned gives the best performance, but the kite is now in its most streamlined position and it can hindenburg if your not careful. ...

Re: Pansh Aurora II 10m - one item off bucket list

Hi revhead, The kite is currently clearing customs in Sydney, may not get much use in the near future as we have a stack of wind forecast. This is my third foil kite so I can't see many problems that can't be worked out. Already have plans for an adjustable mixer as I like to adjust to my personal p...

Re: Pansh Aurora II 10m - one item off bucket list

Ordered a 12 mtr Aurora 2 in ultralite cloth 10 days ago. Email came back quickly saying that they were out of blue cloth, would I be happy with a combination of red and white? No problems and the order was placed.
Just had an email saying the kite had been shipped. So far pretty good service.
