Re: R1 vs Chrono

Ok. Chrono V1 is a wild beast. It brings the fire breathing dragon. Yes its less stable and more tip tucking if you fly it bad. It was the original depower race kite.R1 in is the second gen race kite. Its more stable and inflates better. Some reports have stated that R1 is not quite as fast as chron...

Re: Ozone Edge V9 vs OR flite vs Core XR5

Well the edge is the winner winner chicken dinner for boosting. But it needs to be actively flown through the jump for best results. For that reason the old schoolers tend to sacrifice a bit of height and aspect for a kite that needs less active flying mid jump like a north rebel.

Re: Best Kite for Downwinders- Recomendations.

Yeah as other have said. Choose the kite for your riding style not the fact that you are down winding.
That said, lower aspect is definitely easier, typically faster turning and better and running down wind with slacker lines.

Re: Hindenburg

I kite some batshitcrazy winds on occasions. I have almost the complete ozone range chrono, edge, catalyst, reo, uno. So I can give some direction. Lower aspect and less struts/ lighter is better for ultra shifty gusty winds at low or no board speed. Think about demoing an enduro or similar. Lighter...

Re: Self-Rescue: The big problem with Ram airs

... That said, Hold the race on the flat hard sand and I have no chance on an lei against a high aspect foil. In that instance I have to fire up the chrono. Then its game on!. Wish i had the money to ship your ass & land buggy to Ivanpah ; we could race and the looser could buy the cold beer, (woul...

Re: Self-Rescue: The big problem with Ram airs

DSC01217.JPG Simply a better pilot I'd have thought. No reason you couldn't have done that with a foil kite. There is one advantage. That's the lei's ability to be snapped back after completely slack lining it. In the dunes going down slope down wind sometimes you need to run straight at the kite f...
