Re: biggest regret purchase

Contrary to pretty popular opinion, my worst purchase was a Ride Engine harness. Felt good in the shop if a bit fiddly with those straps, but I liked it there so took it to the beach. Did 2 sessions with it and fortunately was able to exchange it afterwards. I had to take breaks from kiting every 15...

Re: Airush Ultra 12m for waves

Thanks for that, also interested in the Ultra 12m on top of my Pivots for low-wind wave-'riding' rather fooling around a bit. Sounds like a 12m could get me out from 12-13 knots and up on the surfboard since I weigh about the same as you maybe 5lb less. How do you rate the general speed and the turn...

Re: Pivot Unbaised Review. Good Kite For Surf?

Good for you and very nice that you posted your review having a lot of experience with the kite, that'll help a lot of people. I'm still very happy with my 2017 7&9 Pivots. Now if only the wind would pick up again, it's been 2 months now without any serious opportunity to ride  . I may have to...

Re: Newby Gear Question - Evo 2017 or 2018

The Evo is said to have changed significantly from '17 to '18. On Seabreeze the local North expert loves the '17 and hates the '18. You should head up there to inform yourself, valuable insights.

Re: New TT - Regular Raptor/ Naish / North?

I am quietly searching for a different twintip and have been in touch with shops about it. The Monarch wasn't recommended to me as being very comfortable to ride. High performance but there's friendlier boards in the Naish line-up that are high performance as well. One particular shop mentioned the ...

Re: Airush Ultra: one strut kite that meets expectations of a ram air lover

I was you, I'd get a 3 strut 12m wave kite. I’ve had an 11 but thought that too slow. 17 or 18 knots is not light wind. Any good 12-meter kite will pull you on 17 or 18 knots. cheers Below that, ideally a kite that will work from 12-18 knots Ultra 9 stays in the air much better than Pivot 8. If you...

Re: Take own gear or rent

200 quid sounds like a lot. Flying from the Netherlands, you can get your gear across for about €35 each way if you book beforehand. At both premium & budget carriers. So I'd definitely check that out first.

I'd want my own gear, precisely for the reasons you mention.

Re: Airush Ultra: one strut kite that meets expectations of a ram air lover

What would you recommend for use with a waveboard & twintip? I fly Naish Pivots 5-7-9 but would like something when wind is below 17-18 knots to have some fun on either waveboard (small waves as they're windbased) or twintip (won't go to the moon obviously but decent jumps and hangtime for some back...

Re: true advice on Sri Lanka, a new Brazil?

You do know there is no border India/Sri Lanka right? Sri Lanka is an island...

Your contact might have referred to the Tamil Tiger - Sri Lanka official government struggles that were going on for a long period. That's (mostly?) in the past now as far as I know.
