Re: Kiteboard for choppy water?

Sorry John I don't share your views and agree with Dimitri on pop. Suppose it's all about how you define "pop". If you mean a traditional load the tail (flex the board) and release to ollie the board up, then you're absolutely right - the Mako is way too stiff for that. However, if you mean, abilit...

Re: Kiteboard for choppy water?

With the Mako to load and pop the board you don't flex the tail and olly like you do with a normal TT. Instead you bear off and then carve hard to load up the rail of the board. Send the kite and release the edge and you are headed sky high... there are few boards that jump as high as the Mako. Her...

Re: Best / longest lasting water resistant suncreens

I'm one of those who swears by SolRX. Seems to last me about 5 hours in the water. Whether surfing or kiting, it lasts. And, it doesn't sting your eyes.

Re: When to use Stopper Ball

I use the stopper ball only when mowing the lawn in steady winds (+/- 3 mph). I don't use it that much, but it's certainly nice to have on those occasions when I do want to use it.

Re: When & Where --- did the sport of Kite Boarding begin ?

http://energykitesystems.net/KiteBoarding/KBimages/PossibleKBroots.jpg The Chinese first developed kiteboarding. They quickly realize that it was an extremely difficult sport because of their limitations in terms of materials. Paper kites just don't relaunch well at all. But, their land boarding en...

Re: 2013 Ocean Rodeo Razor

...snap a twig on the beach :o my favourite measuring stick ;) to match sides :) Funny, I do that too! Twigs on the beach are enormously useful! I used to use heavier branches as my windsurfing downhaul grips. Wrap the downhaul around a good healthy beach stick and get a lot of pull on that puppy! ...

Re: Looking for a more comfortable harness

P.S. I use the Naish Balance seat harness ... with a Dynabar. This loosens up my hips in the seat harness a lot for wave riding.

GoPro anti-fogging?

Haven't had much luck with stopping the fogging inside the GoPro camera case. I have an HD Hero2 and use Rain-X Anti-Fog, but it doesn't really work too well. Anyone found something that works?

Re: Looking for a more comfortable harness

I've had good luck with the Naish Balance windsurfing seat harness. Stays lower than the Fusion and didn't cause my impact vest to ride up on my shoulders. Granted that mine is about 4 years old.... not sure if the current version maintains these same design characteristics. http://naishmaui.com/201...

Re: What are some of the best relaunching kites right now?

I agree that the wind in the video looks to be more than 5 knts.... more like 8. But, still impressive. I liked the reverse launch. Looks cool. Nice flying 17m kite.
