Re: Rip curl flash bomb or e-bomb 4/3 for capetown?

Flash Bomb is a better suit, you have to get used to getting in and out of a no-zip.
Flash Bomb will dry faster.

Re: North Wam 2018 5'10" or 5'8"

I have had every year WAM typically in that 5'10" range. 2017 I got the 5'8" Sessions, love that board. Great in the waves, and fast for when there are none. The 5'8" has plenty of volume even for light wind days. I am 5'11" and 175 lbs.

Re: Slingshot Celeritas 5`8” vs North Wam 5´10”

I live in a light wind area (socal), my biggest kite is a 2017 Neo 10 and 2017 Rebel 10, my boards have to have a good low end. I could not feel any difference in the low end between the WAM and Pro sessions. If there was, I would not have sold my WAM. FYI

Re: Slingshot Celeritas 5`8” vs North Wam 5´10”

I have had every year WAM. It is a good all around board, fast, strong, ok in the waves, can handle small and big waves and chop well. The 2016 and 2017 are the same, no changes except for the color. I typically ride a 5'10" 175lbs, waves and jumping, strapped and strapless. But this year I got the ...

Re: ? for Ion Harness Users

For many years I used a Dakine pyro with a sliding hook, loved it, but I had to find replacement when they stopped making them. So I bought the Vertex, and have been happy with its ability to twist on the body without riding up on you. I have had a new Vertex every year for the last 4 years, and hav...

Re: North surf straps. Comfy but shit!

I took mine apart and stitched it together.
The strap cleat just does not hold. Bad design.

Re: North rocketfish'08 5.6

Very good high wind board for "strapped" riding, really cuts though the chop. You can ride waves with just about anything, it's all personal preference. The board is strong and can take jumping. If you are riding strapless, then go for a 2013 WAM.

Re: North Rebel 2014

Packing your Rebel. Non valve side. Take the tip and fold inward so that the fold is at the first strut. Then, at the fist strut, start rolling to the other side until you reach the strut that is second from the end on the (valve side) then stop. Valve side. Take the that tip and fold inward, just l...

Re: Pterygium (Surfer's Eye)

[kiteforumtv][/kiteforumtv] I have had it for years, started wearing sunglasses in the water 10 years ago and it slowed its progression. Here is some videos from the Harvard Eye Center, 1 video on main page and a few more under "videos". I know at some point I will need this procedure. http://www.ha...

Re: Sliding hook harness?

Dakine stopped making the pyro with a the posi lock belt in 2008 or 09. I am still using one today and love it. It allows the hook to move from side to side. So they designed that mini sliding bar for the new harness 08 and on. I have not tried it. Same idea, but maybe a little less side to side mov...
