Re: Flexifoil Hadlow ID - Hard kite to relaunch ?

The Id isn't supposed to be a beginners kite and had a notorious relaunch (although not as difficult as the Pro models). All the Hadlows sacrificed ease of relaunch for performance when flying. It's a fantastic kite for the advancing rider but you'll almost certainly find your progression quicker on...

Good point - I use bindings so it's not something I need to consider but it's definitely something to bear in mind.

Re: What wetsuit do you recommend

I've had one of this years Mystic Majestic 5/3s for about a month now. I've had quite a few sessions where it's only been about 8 or 9 degrees C (so around the 50 degree F mark you're talking about) and I've not even felt mildly chilly so far. It's kept my core warm enough to avoid wearing gloves so...

Re: Reviews on Hadlow MK2 board?

I've got the Hadlow straps on mine and had a few sessions on it now. Nice and grippy pads and the straps feel really comfortable (for my foot size anyway). I tried various combos of pads and straps on my Mk1 board (including the standard Mystic straps and 3do pads combo) but would always occasionall...

Re: Naish Torch 2008 on 2011 bar and lines??

In theory any four line kite should fly on any four line bar - when you lay your bar out (with no depower on and the bar fully sheeted in) all four should be the same length. I'm guessing that you've checked that your bar is set up correctly? Obviously this wouldn't explain why one flies differently...

Re: Finding University + Kitesurfing - HELP NEEDED

There are hundreds of places you could choose including some of the world's best kite destinations.

Perth does as does every other major city in Australia. All are hot and reasonably good for kiting but obviously Perth stands out.

Cape Town has one too.

In my experience that would certainly cover virtually all days there unless you weigh 40kg :D

Edit: That assumes that 12m is your biggest kite. If you've got something bigger than a 12, take it!

Re: Hadlow Freestyle MK2 - How do you think it will be?

I'm independent. Absolutely love mine too (2011 - haven't had chance to try this year's yet). It took me a while to get to grips with it as it doesn't come with pads/straps and you have to find a combo that works. Since I've been riding got the "standard" setup of the Mystic straps and d30 pads it's...

Re: Slingshot turbine

I've had mine a couple of months now and I'm very impressed. It's super, super stable in the sky and there's no back stalling. I can't believe how easy it is to relaunch - it's insane how easily it comes out of the water considering its size. I'm 85 kilos and seem to need about 12 knots to be able t...

Totally agree. Simple, effective, durable and reliable - gets my vote without a doubt.
