Re: OR Flight - Aluula

Boosting on my hydrofoil is one of my favorite activities in the world. That being said I can't decide between the 12m Roam or the Flite. For a great all around light wind foil kite that also boosts big what is your recommendation between the two models?

Re: Feeling in foiling: 1 strut kite vs foil kite

I prefer single strut or Alula over foils (rode the Soul and its a great kite) because at my new home spot a drift launch and self-rescue is required due to the tightness of the launch. Also my spot is very gusty and the LEIs tend to handle the swirly winds better. But if you've got smooth winds the...

Re: How do you seasoned riders think about when to refresh kites?

Depends on how often you use your kites. As I kite in mountain lakes and then in Gorge I switch out my 9 and 12 most often. Mostly every 2 years and my bar and lines every year (especially since I just got into mega looping :))

Re: Ecological disaster in kite paradise

Can we get back on topic and focus on how best to help the clean-up on the reefs? Are there any organziations raising funds to hire locals to help with these efforts?

Re: Aluula ? New Revolutionary Material from Ocean Rodeo

Someone should come up with ONE STRUT kite made 100% with aluula. Rigid frame, and kite that weighs nothing. That would be sick.
Totally agree. For my local mountain lake a 12m would be perfect as it is often 7 - 18 knots.

How will Covid impact kite brands and shops?

I was thinking about purchasing a new quiver this year of Ocean Rodeo Aulula kites, but due to the shelter at home orders and severe contractions in my business I am going to forego this purchase. I’m likely not the only one in this position. I’m wondering how many brands and shops that are over-lev...

The rule is l, at least in the PNW, that the surfer going down the line always has right if way.

Re: Aluula ? New Revolutionary Material from Ocean Rodeo

Yeah my buddy flew one and although the wind was too light to work with even a foil, the kite still stayed aloft and didn’t backstall when nothing else, including a larger Cloud, would fly.
