Re: Flysurfer-specific training?

Hi! - It's upwind angle and speed I mean. I can get riding, but I can't get back to my launch site when the wind is light, while the good riders with comparable boards and body weight on 15m or 17m tube kitescan. - Mixer test (MT) settings: I put the kite profile back to neutral because increased ca...

Re: Real risk to be hit by a lightening when riding

I met a guy who felt a tingle in his arms and harness because lightning struck nearby. His kite wasn't actually struck but that's probably just lucky. Seems like common sense to get off the water when there's a thunderstorm.

Re: Flysurfer-specific training?

A couple other lightwind tips I've found useful in addition to all the great info above: - Shift your weight a bit more forward on the board, it helps keep a greater length of board on the water. - Kite not lower than 45 degrees (unless you're sining), so you use some of its pull to keep you planing...

line plan for Fysurfer Soul

...anyone seen one anywhere? Not in the usual place on the FS website, and google drew a blank too.

Re: Speed 5 21 or Soul 21

Nice... I can't afford to lose too much low end though, my next kite up is a 21m. Wonder if anyone can comment on this: think it's fair to say that both the Soul and Speed5 would have comparable (or better) low-end performance over the old Speed3 that I would be replacing? Or can only a Speed replac...

Re: Speed 5 21 or Soul 21

Any opinions on which design would perform better in gusty conditions? I'm actually thinking 12m rather than 21.

Re: Flysurfer-specific training?

Thanks for all the suggestions. To cover off a few: - I've got a massive Flydoor so I can't blame the board. - The kite has no damage or porosity so can't blame the kite either. To Adventure Logs' point though: I have had internal straps break before, only on my Lotus 21m, maybe a design weakness on...

Re: Flysurfer-specific training?

fernmanus: I think I'm the only one in town here with a 21m and several times I've also been the only person having a solid session on the water (though foil boards are cutting into that! ;) But my low end just doesn't feel low enough -- when it's blowing around 10 kts I know there should be power, ...
