Re: Problem with valve inflate of RRD Obsession 2011

You need to inflate your kite rock hard. You also need to ride the right size kite in the right winds. I used the Obsession 12 m 2011 in 30 knots on the Hardangervidda plateau, and I weigh 75 kg. Don't do this unless you are an experienced rider. You have to pull in your trim strap when you have gus...

Answer for Toby

As someone who often rides kite buggies, kitesurfs, and snowkites, I can tell you that a high aspect open cell foil would be unbeatable on the water. The problem is that using handles is sijmilar to riding unhooked, so it would require tremendous skill even to maintain balance on a board because the...

Re: HQ Kite?

The HQ Apex III is a great kite. For light winds, the 10 meter Apex III is your best bet. I have tested the Apex III on the Hardangervidda plateau and jumped very high from some hills. It is lower aspect ratio than the Montana VI, which is higher aspect ratio. Lower aspect ratio kites are more stabl...

HQ Neo II

The Neo 2 is medium aspect, and it is a great kite, but for different reasons. The Flysurfer Speed is a high aspect foil kite, so it is designed for freeriding, being a LONG kite that has great upwind capabilities, great forward speed, and slower turning speed (because of its length, especially with...

Re: Epic Kites 2011

I enjoyed testing out the Screamer 14 meter two weeks ago. It was great for freeriding and for jumping, as it is a higher aspect ratio kite. The wind was about 1 knots. I am looking forward to receiving the 10 meter Limited Edition Screamer. I think it will add to the different types of kites I use ...

Epic Kites Screamer 2011: review

2011 Screamer 14 meter: I rode this kite for a couple of hours because Dimitri lent it to me. It was great to try it out. Since I have experience flying C kites, I felt that the Screamer had the shape of a C kite with many of the modern characteristics of newer kites, such as a simplified bridle and...

Re: Epic Kites 2011

Looking forward to riding the Screamer 10 m LTD 2011 edition. I'll be in Hatteras from the 18th of October until the 21st, so I hope I can at least try out my new Screamer and the new bar. Everything looks much improved. Jumping is one of my favorite activities, so I will be interested in how much h...

Re: RRD Obsession 2010

This is hands down my favorite kite of all--the 12 meter--for 10-20 knots. Great low end performance, fast turning, and great hangtime. It is RRD's high performance kite, but it has enough depower for beginners as well. My only point is that you should think of the 12 meter as equal to a 14 meter st...
