When I'm rocking them in the city streets, people are sometimes so blown away by the awesome, I see them pointing me out to their friends ... so I give them a shout out "Yo, respect the strap!">
Bravo!

Re: Who ride with sunglasses, and where?

Who wants someone cutting into your eyeball to replace your natural lens with a piece of plastic? About 3,000,000 a year in the US. And every year I get a few people who want a refractive clear lens exchange with a multifocal IOL. Important to recognize anybody who lives long enough will get a cata...

Optometrist here.
If you happen to like wind, we are recruiting in Corpus Christi.

OP: pterygium is more common in equatorial latitudes. Spheroidal degeneration is more common above 45 degrees north or south. Sunglasses are a good idea for all.

Re: Recommendations for lessons in Texas

I would buy a trainer kite and fly the heck out of it before lessons. If you can keep the kite in the air your lesson time will carry more value. Fly it it light wind. Keep it in the air with your eyes closed. Fly it in heavy wind and learn to use it to pull you from sitting to standing. Try a skate...

Re: Recommendations for lessons in Texas

You can't beat warm flat shallow water for learning so a trip to the South Texas coast is worth your while. Good choices in CC and SPI. CC has better wind. SPI has nicer launches for bear feet. The wind is driven by fronts this time of year. If you get a front then you get good winds. But sometimes ...

Re: Mast length....?

I’ve been enjoying my 100 cm mast for wave riding. Im still riding low but feel there is a better margin for error to rise without ventilating. But I broke a board after slamming into a sand bar right where the wave was forming up at low tide. I suppose I’m riding with the foil 50-70 cm deep and can...

Re: Light Rider Quiver Question

There are so many variables other than size to make a kite work. That is to say a 120 lb beginner in 15 knots does not want the same 9m kite as a 220 pound confirmed rider uses for boosting in 25 knots. Think bar pressure and bar throw, easy relaunch and easy keep in the air and easy sheet and go po...
