Re: Firewire Vader

+1 for the Evo but there's another thread to talk about that.

Re: Firewire Vader

I see what you mean but the Vader is still there, you just need to click on "all kiteboards"

Re: Firewire Vader

If I were you Tao,

I'd get either a 5'1 Vader or Evo, you will loose a tiny bit of low end but will gain a heap of performance.

The VG imo, doesn't shine like the other 2 FW boards.

Re: Firewire Vader

I owned the 5'2 VG & 5'2 Nugget at the same time & have not ridden the 5'4 VG. Imo the extra 2" in length or speed generating fins will make little diff in low end. It's the rocker & bottom shape of the nugget that allows it to plane at low speed. The only way to fin out for yourself is to buy the b...

Re: Firewire Vader

Hi Tao, I had the 5'0 & 5'2 Nuggets - all the FW boards VG/VD & Evo have more rocker so won't replace your Nugget for low end - even in the biggest size FW you can get.
Maybe keep your Nugget ?

Re: Firewire Vader

I'll no, your no - that's your opinion Bushy. ;-)
I had a 5'2 VG & was not impressed by its low end & I prefer the Vader & now even more the Evo.
Buy them all (like I did) & decide for yourself.

Re: FireWire Evo KiteSurfBoard

Yes, I think your friend is correct - Helium is replacing FST.

I also think it's strange that Evo,s are only available in FST & now Helium in kite construction only. (Not paddle surfboard construction)

Re: FireWire Evo KiteSurfBoard

FireWire is going to discontinue their FST technology in their surfboard line. It will be replaced with the new helium technology. Not sure how it will affect their kiteboards, however, a friend that rides for them says the Helium is stronger then FST. He has just been kiting with a stock Helium su...

Re: FireWire Evo KiteSurfBoard

Hey Nomad, What's your paddle fitness? When you mention mushy stuff, what exactly are you talking about - 3-5ft slop at Lindamar, or something a bit better? I've got about 1-2 kgs on you and I'm debating if the 5'1" would have enough volume. I've tried paddling my 5'0" vanguard (in mush) and couldn...
