Re: Anton's tips on surviving a squall.

In waiting to find out if it is too strong, it is very easy to wait too long to act in the seconds it can take to build . . . we usually have no idea how strong it might be in advance. So, act early while you still can. . . act early before dangerous gusty winds arrive and pull the plug. Great advi...

Re: Anton's tips on surviving a squall.

Great advice but I have to add one thing: If the squall hits and you need to release, Anton never mentions this but it's much safer to pull your QR while you are still in the water! Yes your kite will get wet but pulling the QR in the water gives you a little extra margin for safety especially if th...

Re: Pansh Genesis and some tuning

Pansh reminds me of a New Jersey Diner. In New Jersey when you sit down to eat they bring you a menu with hundreds maybe even thousands of kinds of food. The problem is not a single one of those foods is made from scratch. Every single one they go into the back pull out a frozen slab of whatever you...

Re: Pansh Genesis and some tuning

I have a genesis here's my feel for it 1) doesn't turn at all. Yank on the bar as hard as you like nothing happens. 2) super reliable, never tacos, always relaunches great to have a mid aspect kite like this that you feel safe taking out to hydrofoil with 3) doesn't depower well, the kite is either ...

Re: Wind Ranges related to kite Sizes, please share you experience!

It really depends. I've ridden a 15m in 40 knots. You have to get pretty far from the beach when you boost because you float so far downwind. I've also ridden on a 6m in 25 knot winds for the waves. You can't megaloop those big kites they are just too slow to catch you, so it's more fun to switch do...

Re: Techniques for rescuing runaway hydrofoil and bringing it to the beach?

You know what they say "Secure your own mask before assisting others" Some stuff is just too dangerous to do. Here's what I would do. Foil all the way to the beach upwind of the runaway foil. Drop my foil, then body drag back out. It should only take a minute or so because you are body dragging down...

Re: Could someone please invent a better way to self land a kite in high wind.

thats releasing not landing :) Exactly. Using the Quick Release is the single best way to land your kite. It is safe, it is reliable, and best of all it helps train your quick release muscle memory. Even if you have other techniques like a tethered land or a front line technique, you should always ...

Re: Wind Ranges related to kite Sizes, please share you experience!

The simple answer for you is what ever you feel works on the gear you are riding, and it looks like you have a good feel for There's no one answer for kite size it all depends on conditions, and what you want to do. Megaloops, wakestyle, airstyle, they will each have a different wind range. Just ri...
