Re: 20m LEI Kites - Its Time

I have used +19m kites since 2002 still do, but have learnt to kitefoil, so if it's not more than 16 knots foiling is way more fun than using a huge kite and a TT. Foiling with a 13m kite or less is way more playful and get you going sooner than moving a huge kite on a TT. If you haven't, try it be...

Re: ‘Neo-B’ New Generation Kite Pump

pumping a SUP board with an electric pump should only be done when nobody's around. F*in annoying everyone in a 200m radius for 15 minutes. Don't be that guy

Re: 20m LEI Kites - Its Time

And already owned a 20 R2 in 2002...which worked really nice, which is 22 years ago. Can't improve it nowadays? Come on... The people at North most likely improved on it already a long time ago, with something like a 17-18m that turned better, flew better and faster and lifted more, covered at leas...

Re: Is it possible to travel downwind faster than the wind?

It’s possible but not easy. https://kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2361300&hilit=faster+than+the+wind Happy reading! That one is different than the original question, as it also prescribes the trajectory of the vehicle as going directly downwind. It's a more complex problem. Whereas the concept ...

Re: Do you need Aluula Kites?

That looks like packing related issues. Sharp edges on those plastic parts rubbing on the fabric once the kite is packed. The marking "Max flow", and that embossed Duotone logo all contribute to the abrasion of the fabric, if done repeatedly, always in the same area. That branding and marking are al...

Re: Warning, never do this!

Imagine insurance payout for a motorized ship mowing you down while as w sail vehicle you have priority. Except you don't... It's a commercial vessel in a shipping lane, where recreational sailing might even be prohibited. It depends on the local maritime bylaws, but typically a commercial ship has...

Re: Future Kites-Wings will be around 25 PSI +

I wonder how much of the increased stiffness from that high pressure of a frame is offset by the reduced diameter of the frame. Are they just solving for weight, or is it an improvement in stiffness and weight? If its considerably stiffer, then they would probably have to evolve the canopy material...

Re: Which is the durability of a carbon foil?

Spotz tuna 3 is old as f*** so not enormously relevant Plus they closed in 2016/17 Spotz were seriously good foils though and introduced massive accessible performance when a ML bullet 3 was still on the drawing board Ok, but anyway that's not how it is supposed to do. Barrel nuts are strong and si...
