I ride strapless too, and I'm no good at ollying the board yet. I just focus on timing passing through the wave before the break. Hang back, and then book it! I actually don't feel it makes a big difference toe or heel side.

Well actually I didn't lose it. I was so inebriated with my joyous kitesession that I simply left my board on the beach. Omg Phu Quy sounds unreal. Forget Phu Quoc. I only have a month left on my visa anyway, so Mui Ne and Phu Quoc is prbly too much to do. Been two months in Vietnam and still haven't unpacked my kitegear! :-? Lmk if you want to hook up in Mui Ne or Phu Quy. I'm traveling alone… Thanks for all the info...
