Re: how often do you hit fish?

http://i63.tinypic.com/2lus4dc.jpg So my buddy was foiling the other day and came to a dead stop. He checked his foil after the session and saw teeth marks on his fuselage. The picture isn’t great, but in real life you can clearly see bite marks, top and bottom, left and right. Based on the size of...

Nice.

I'm going to waterjet my next board and mold out... oh yeah. Why. Because I can!
Best reason to do anything.

Re: Best scratch filler

JB Weld epoxy. Work it in with a razor blade, then do your wetsanding once it hardens.

I cut a hole in my CNC machine

I did a bit of an upgrade so I can drill and tap straight holes in the masts I build. First I had to build an elevated, super-flat table for the entire machine. 20180614_180428[1].jpg 20180614_181039[1].jpg Then I cut a hole in the waste board.Screwed some clamps into place to hole the top of the ma...

Re: flying foot switch - advice needed

I just had a session where I managed to at least remove my back foot from the footstrap while still flying. But the only turn I completed was fully on the water the whole way. And that was the only turn I completed. This is on a home made hydrofoil, and I think my footstrap position may be too far b...

Re: flying foot switch - advice needed

How much do you use the kite power to keep your weight off the board so your foot movements have less effect on how the foil is riding?

I am guessing you need the board well tuned so that it almost rides on its own, and just be very light on your toes.

Re: Building my next mast

The much longer mast came out good, and makes a big difference. Because I have a much larger margin for error, I got my longest rides so far today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pDN-dYCrUo Its still a little twisty, but much stiffer than my previous masts. The larger front wing I made worked OK, b...
