Re: Bonaire - May ?

Forgot to mention, there is a facebook page called We Share Bonaire that has excellent photos of the island, many taken from a drone, there you'll find pics of the kitespot and Lac Bay and many other places I'm not associated in any way with that page, but have enjoyed their photography, worth check...

Re: how much would you pay for a "good" kite knife?

Can I drip the blades with melted candle wax to keep them free of corrosion and sharp? I do that on my dakine knife blades hoping to keep them sharp till the day I need it. Wax seems to stay put, the way the sheath and knife are designed, wax wont rub off. $10 is what I paid for one I figure they ar...

Re: Bonaire - May ?

Bonaire appears to only have one spot with off shore winds. Went around entire island looking...the best bay on the island (Lac Bay) is off limits to kiters, quite a shame. Lots of windsurfing in that bay, absolutely no kiters allowed, they hate kiters is what I was told. One day, when windsurfing g...

Re: It's official: This is the biggest El Niño on record - L

I say not so fast. The claim is not universally accepted. That businessinsider story is riddled with hints on how to invest accordingly, assuming it is in fact "the biggest". Before shorting this or going long that, might wanna read this one. The other view of the claim...and why calling it the "str...

Re: Definition of a windy day?

As a point of reference, in the US we have NOAA that gives forecasts, and they define these words with specific wind speeds: Gale An extratropical low or an area of sustained surface winds of 34 (39 mph) to 47 knots (54 mph). Windy 20 to 30 mph winds. Breezy 15 to 25 mph winds Don't know if these ar...

Re: Switch Bar Compatibility? Cabrinha + RRD

Wasn't aware there were multiple versions of the Controller2, and I'm not convinced. Based on how up-front Switch is on information about their gear, I seriously doubt they would leave something like that off the web site. maybe a Switch person can comment? I've got a Controller2 purchased Oct 2014,...

Re: Video Switch Element 4 unboxing and review

comments: three things come in the bag with the bar: the thicker line is for tuning your kite lines - attach to lines and to tree. The other line is so you can set the bar up for flagging to two lines, and the other little knotted piece of line is needed to complete the setup. the bag has a special ...
