Re: Small vs large foil board

If you're a begginer, start on a larger surface area board. As you progress you'll find yourself wanting a smaller and more nimble board (provided racing isn't your gig). The smallest size will be dictated by the type of board (thicker board or a thinner one with a floaty deck pad). Ultimately a sma...

Re: Is Shinn going to produce his own foil?

Hi Aleks, A couple of points to note from my perspective as the board developer. The first weight of board I gave you was before production started and before the final pad arrived. Now you know why most brands don't publish the weight of the products..... we produce on site in our HQ and our lead ...

Re: Hydrofoil-Begginer Advise

The main thing when you're starting is get a LOW aspect ratio foil (ie.Front wing Long front to back (chord length) Not the ones that have a front wing that is short front to back ; race type foil). There are lots to choose from. If you fly Cabrinha you might try a double agent foil and board. Not t...

Re: Show me your Eyewear

To me the Silverfish aren't just rebranded seaspecs. At least the roadtrips have the right distance to prevent fogging. Also they come with a bottle of some type of lens cleaner which kinda works like "rainx" on your glasses (Who knows it might be the same thing) so you don't tend to get drops or fo...

Re: Show me your Eyewear

Everyone's face is different but I never found seaspecs very good. They would always fog up on me. No fried eyes (Kurtis USA) are super light and very good too. But for me the one's that have lasted 3 seasons so far without a problem are Silverfish. I use the roadtrips and they have been bomber! htt...

Re: Centre of balance

Interesting question, I was wondering if I should move the foil forward or not? I am learning on a Shinn El Stubbo (135cmx50cm) with zeeko foil, I set it all the way back on the foil plate. 2 front foot strap very loose, no back strap. I feel pretty balanced, pretty much standing on top with weight...

Re: Centre of balance

Yes I forgot about jumping but personally I think if you want to jump use a TT or surfboard. I think jumping on a foil is limited. I'd rather carve and keep the foil in the water.....but that's just me...(over 50 club!).
