Re: Wash or not wash your kites

I wash the kite every time I drop it in the sea water. If it did not get salt water on it, I pack it dry and sand free. Bridles seem to get harder and more abrasive if left and dried with salt water, giving them extra wear if not washed. Washing my bridles keep me from having to replace them every s...

Re: Question for Core riders

I have owned all the older the GTS models (1-3) and have an size 5 and 7 Section additional. I weigh 88 kg. The Section is lighter in construction (to the GTS 3) and slightly more open profile, and more swept wingtips. It drifts better, and has a higher bottom end range with less power thru turns. W...

Re: Epic days in Mauritius

My kite got torn to bits right there. Packed it up and swam back to shore. The boat offered me an ridiculous price (tourist price) so I just swam.

Re: current winds in Cape Town - what sizes to bring?

We had some serious wind the last couple of days, with days that I would have put up a size 4 if I had one, and feeling over powered on my RRD religion size 5. Never thought that one can actually jump high on such a wave kite... I weigh 83 kg , ride directional and kite on the False Bay side, not th...

Re: Cape Town Visitors - A reminder about manners

Big Bafana. You are right, I was impatient and irritated due to traffic, and therefore a bit hasty and direct, my issue to work on.
I will try make peace.

Re: Cape Town Visitors - A reminder about manners

Yesterday was high tide conditions here in Strand South Africa and very little beach area to launch. Coming thru traffic and wanting to get kiting quickly, I inflated my kite and lay out my lines (over a team riders kite lines that was still lying there while he chatted to a friend after a session) ...

Re: Core Section anyone already try it?

I have a Core Section size 7 and can only compare the kite to the previous GT, GTS, GTS2 and GTS3 models and specifically to the 2103 RRD Religion wave kite. Firstly the kite is lighter in weight with a very thin leading edge (very solid though)and strut structure that can be inflated nice and hard....

Re: Straps design

A retractable strap system that can be used or retracts back into the board for strapless riding (when so wanted) would be good!

Re: Carbon VS Glass fiber in kiteboards

I unfortunately have broken most construction forms of directional kite boards and would like to say that both Carbon as well as Glass fiber boards tend to break when pushed to far. Now the board builders will all respond by saying that their the lay-up techniques and foam cores differ and they have...
