I use (still) the weighted wing method. However, unlike a tethered (& anchored) launch, it doesn't offer a solution for self-landing at the end of a session. With all your years of experience i doubt that you are not capable of walking up safely/ steadily up the centerline(s) all the way to the kit...

Wow those kite lines don't offer much shade to my eyes !! :o
That's what i realized quickly after having windsurfed for so long and switching sport
The sail acted as a shield for years and years on certain wind directions

A self launch weighted method is all i trust and it does not require the folding of a wingtip Leading edge facing up with a carefully positioned kite to the wind angle/flow Using a filled 2 foot long sandbag....just drape it's 1/3 weight/length over the kite LE (about 2 feet from the tip) by keeping...

To block the most bad blue-violet light without being polarized the best lenses are polycarbonate Transitions Xtractive Brown with backside anti-reflective...it will knock out 35% in inactivated state and 90% fully dark

Or because of eye problems? To prevent future eye problems....all UV is cumulative....the big buzz right now is harmful blue violet light...wavelength between 415-450 nanometers That light goes straight to the retina and that's real bad....macular degeneration is not good at all to end up with Lowe...
