Re: Anti-hydrofoil

I like how the hydrofoil appears to sit in the water a little more, allowing you to both ride the water or the foil. Who makes that particular foil and board?

Re: Long term (10 yr+) health effects from kiteboarding impa

The large apparatus using in the Joseph Pilates method are the perfect remedy for traction based sports like kiteboarding. As an ex football player, martial artist, database administrator, board sport enthusiast and religious movement manic, I've found the Pilates method to be extremely helpful in t...

Re: continuing to expose IKO as a fraud

Glad I read this post, was about to dump a wad of cash to fly the IKO flag someday. I'm thinking kiteboarding could be considered a fitness modality, as part of a comprehensive fitness certification that would include CPR, water safety, First Aid, traction training, etc. which would allow me to use ...

Re: The new Uni Control Bar by Blade

Can you also PM me, or just post the fix to the hole on the swivel for the safety line issue. Makes sense now why Slingshot uses those tiny metal guides on the swivel, and symmetric lines running through the larger swivel holes. The small "unguided" hole on the Uni-Bar swivel can bind due to a: the ...

Re: Lightwave DV8

Took the fins off my DV8 and replaced them with the set of kite skate fins from a Naish board. The DV8 was loose, but not much different than a skate. Had some fun riding switch, tail first, to get off the beach, then doing a quick revert to carve down the line (jibe free). I've been looking for a h...

Yet again, more evolutionary proof that our ancestors were in fact brachiators. (perhaps having gills and wings too)...

Re: Tether launch BWS noise kite?

Got ya, sorry for the confusion, I've don't that off the hitch of my car a few times. Well, at least I got to ramble out lout for a minute. Will do my research on self launching techniques in high winds, not sure if drift launching would be on that list.

Re: Side shore wind and waves - What is your kite doing?

2009 huh, any changes on your perspective here? Guessing these days you'd make your next maneuver and not worry about your kite, because it's "drifting" ... Since you seem to have a good grasp of small kites, surfing side-on, unhooked, wakeskating, and a plethora of other useful information, would y...

Re: Tether launch BWS noise kite?

Is "tether launching" the same as drift launching? Guessing just let the kite stroll downwind on it's leading edge while it opens up and drifts to the edge of the window, do a quick roll with gentle backline tug, release the bar ( with stopper ball all the way out) , and send the kite up and off the...

Re: Anyone else using just one bar?

I love my Slingshot 23" bar, as much as I would love to use my newer 17" or 20", the 23" makes every kite I have turn on a dime, especially since I chopped the 27m lines down to 19m , and I've had some nice saves, by really being able to "poke out the longer bar". Got used to flying my 2012 Bla...
