Re: Yes! You Can! Self Land A Core Kite

I have seen someones finger "degloved" to the bone by a powerline. You do not want to do this in anything other than very light winds. Tethering your kite is much safer for self landing in my opinion - get a builders rubble bag and fill it with sand or rocks and use a carabiner.

Re: Foil size for KiteFoil Wave Riding

I was wondering if anyone has any experience of riding waves on a Foil around 1100cm. I have the liquid force impulse and I am finding it maxes out when trying to carve onto waves - basically feels I am having to push all my weight on my front foot to stop it exploding out the water on me. What siz...

Re: Foil size for KiteFoil Wave Riding

I had the same with a beginner oriented foil the Gong X-over. With Gong it was easy to first change to a smaller stab wich was a big improvement and later change the front wing (they have a huge assortment). Did you already try to move the mast to the back? Which could improve the current setup I a...

Re: Foil size for KiteFoil Wave Riding

Thanks for the information. These are not especially large waves but I think the combination of kite + wave power means this foil gets over powered very quickly. The feedback loop between the wave and the apparent wind of the kite and the foil means it very quickly reaches its top end, it feels almo...

Re: Beginner Board Volume for Kitefoiler

Yes, you can get by with a smaller board, but why? Problem is, you NEED a board bigger in volume than your weight, when learning, period. So much easier and more fun and faster learning. And no matter what, you WILL have to change down to a smaller board when learned. So it sounds nice to get "one ...

Re: Beginner Board Volume for Kitefoiler

I have the same background, but I weigh 78 kg. A 100Lt board is quite easy. I could get on foil in the first try in 12 knots (2000 cm2 foil). A 75 Lt board was difficult, but doable (I have experience with low volume windsurf wave boards.) I think 100 Lt will be ok, just don't get a huge foil, thos...

Beginner Board Volume for Kitefoiler

I am interested in getting a wingfoil setup to learn on. However I am wondering if my background in Kite foiling and windsurfing means I can get away with a smaller board volume for my first board. I only plan to wingfoil out in stronger winds (probably 15 knots plus). I am around 90kg so can I get ...

Re: Hydrofoil Has Absorbed Water

Dont know it just had a small dent in the skin that covers the foil. It is not delaminating at all. I have attached a photo of the damage, I dont think it has been there long maybe only 3 or 4 times on the water until I noticed. Will the water destroy the wing? - I am thinking of trying to dry it ou...
