Re: Georgia Kiters

Wassup Rob?! Patrick here, I was wondering if you would pop up on here. I seem to have lost your contact info but I'd love to hook up and ride sometime. I guess I haven't ridden Gould's since the big inlet shift, perhaps its better... Tell me about Jekyll, the spot for the typical NE is south of tha...

Georgia Kiters

After taking some time off I've been bitten by the kiting bug again! I live in an awesome place to kite but I don't have anyone to kite with. I live near and work on Sapelo Island (check Cabretta inlet on Google earth) which is only accessible by boat or state ferry but... I have a boat! Plus lots o...

Re: adding straps to a surf board

Just my opinion, its how I killed an old favorite that was in seemingly good structural condition, it was just a bit yellow.

Re: adding straps to a surf board

Don't do it. You'll snap it on your first session. I tried this years ago on a shortboard I'd had for a while. I routed out a small area of the deck, added inserts imbedded in an epoxy slurry, and laid a small glass patch over the whole thing (probably like 3" square). I launched a small jump off a ...

Re: Paying full retail $ for LW (8 knots low end) which of t

What happens if you drop that sucker in some surf?? Sh*t happens when learning new moves... I've dropped my 12 LEI in small (2-3') surf and I'm amazed by the shapes it takes on. It's gotten totally wadded up but somehow always gets straightened out and relaunches. I can't imagine the outcome would b...

Re: Lithium Quiver Help

I'm on the 2012 12m, mostly twin tip. I'm 165 lbs and I don't start thinking about using it unless its at least 10 to 13kts. It loves 15-20, and starts trying to kill me above 25. Love the kite.

Re: Boardshorts?? Yes or No??

Okay I've surfed for 20 years, wakeboarded for 15, kited for... well not that long but never have I worn boardshorts over a full wetsuit. Its just plain goofy looking. Look to surfing, the birthplace of all our boardsports. You see surfers wearing baggies over fulls? nope. If its warm (no suit) - pl...

Feeler, kiteboarding mothership adventure?

First off I hope this is an appropriate place to post this, if not let me know! It’s really just a feeler to see if you guys like the sound of it. So I captain this beast ( www.captgabby.com ), we mainly cater to kayakers but I'm wondering if kiters would be interested. The Georgia coast has some aw...

Re: lithium relaunch issues

Thanks for the tips, sounds like the biggest problem was the light wind. I'll try some of these tricks on my next go around.

lithium relaunch issues

Okay guys and gals, I'm still learning here but I seem to be having some trouble getting my 2012 lithium 12m relaunched in lighter winds. I can get it to roll over and start heading for the edge of the window... looking good, then it just stops. It just sits there with the leading edge angled down 1...
