Re: Mouth Mount for GOpro, high probability of injury the face?

I used to use the Pro Standard Grill Mount and it's comfy in your mouth due to the boil & bite but it hangs a bit too low so the camera hits stuff if you look down. It also lacks a secure way to store it when not in use. Now I use the official GoPro Bite Mount and it's great. It's not as comfy in th...

Re: Where did stopper balls go?

The OR Shift bar has a stopper that supposedly actually works on PU center lines.

The Cab bars come with stoppers but like most stoppers on PU tubes, they don't work.

Re: GoPro Head strap

This picture tells you exactly why mouth mounts are so much better than helmet mounts, the water streaking. With a mouth mount you are always licking the lens then dunking it in the water to get crystal clear shots. With a helmet mount you will always end up with spots and streaks. Virtually never, ...

Re: Turbine 19 vs 17 vs Flite 17 On The Ground Comparison

Yeah, but the kite cloth itself is flat, not really spherical. What gives the kite the 'sphere' is how its seams are laid. If I place the edges of my triangles along the seam lines (as I did) I do measure the area of the cloth with very little margin of error. Only if you did it while the kite is i...

Re: Turbine 19 vs 17 vs Flite 17 On The Ground Comparison

I am not sure how manufacturers are measuring the flat area (maybe the total area of the cloth before it is sewn together, not sure) but the difference seems to be significant. My method of measuring was: - find the middle of the kite (because I need to measure only a half of the kite) - divide the...

Re: GoPro Head strap

If you want it on your head, wear a helmet. When I use it on my snowboard helmet I tether it to the helmet with a short piece of kite line just in case the mount rips off. I would suggest you go the mouth mount route though, I use it for all my filming. I've tried the Pro Standard Grill Mount and it...

Re: Surfboard for a beginner?

If you like your Mako then just get a Duke for your surfboard, they are quite nice and user friendly. They don't excel at surfing waves without kite power though, so if your goal is slack kite wave surfing pick a different board.
