Re: light wind surfboard vs foil board

This is pretty much a re-hash of the old debate on volume in kitesurfboards. Volume in kiteboards is not an asset, but more of a hindrance. My go to kitesurf board that has replaced pretty much all my other boards is a 4'10" x 19" surfboard with 35L of volume. I don't find the volume getting in my ...

Re: Which helmet?

A ruby scrum helmet would do almost nothing vs. a foil wing or fuselage. If you're going to wear head protection wear something with a hard shell when foiling. That Petzl helmet looks very nice but again the polystyrene sections would cleave like butter if hit by the wing of your foil and offer almo...

Re: Sand / water / aqua socks to wear inside boots

With regards to the shredtowns, I don't think their intended to be used for walking on the beach and may not last/invalidate warranty... Shredtowns were designed for multi-tower cable parks where once you fall you have to swim to shore and walk back to the starting point over dirt/gravel/rock/aspha...

Slingshot Shredtowns are a better option than Hyperlite system for keeping your feet cushy.

Re: Fireball & Swivel Danger

In their latest video you can even see Matt has let his leash get wrapped 2x around his QR and that's without gloves on https://youtu.be/TEUultsuTRw?t=90 https://youtu.be/TEUultsuTRw?t=90 It's kind of frustrating because sometimes just looping your kite will cause the ball to rotate in the socket in...

NP Surf 3 Finger Mitts can't be beat for both warmth and arm pump. I can log 4 hour winter sessions in them.

Re: Recommendation on large tube kite for light Foiling

I estimate my C2 17m to be able to fly in 4-5 knots and my LF Solo 12m to fly in 6-7 knots. The reason you'll see people going to foil + foil isn't for absolute low end, it's about how the kites generate relative wind. Light LEI kites aren't high aspect ratio and don't generate much apparent wind wh...

Re: Recommendation on large tube kite for light Foiling

Most of the 1 strut kites are amazing for riding a foilboard:
- cloud (even the old ones which can be had cheap)
- LF Solo
- Airush Ultra
- North Mono
- Naish Boxer
