Re: Are Switch kites getting any better?

@Faxie - You obviously don't know how to get worked and thrash in the waves properly. Seriously: Almost all of my wrap issues have been during downwinders, looping the kite into the water and getting a lot of line slack, as I coast to a stop towards a downed kite. Earlier this year, I somehow manag...

Re: Are Switch kites getting any better?

+1000 hrs on numerous models and sizes Elements and onyl bridle wrap I've experienced was with selflaunching my V3 13m. What am I doing wrong? :(

Lost count how many times my V3 7m has been eaten up by 1,5-2m waves, never had a wrap with it.

I use vegas and rebel with low V bars..and its better feeling than the Y...i have the original bar too and dont like...more direct control with V..
That's mostly because you're basically more powered... bar is calibrated with lines straight, Y vs V is a higher angle, thus shorter.

Re: Are Switch kites getting any better?

5 strutted new elements look like kahoonas to me and early generation ones I had made nice power, drifted well, and were good jumpers just a little heavy on the bar pressure. Felix seems not to be a foiler so shame about weight addition. Guess new heliums might be answer. Felix foils too nowadays ;)

Re: True C kites 14 meters

If the topicstarter wants significant more lowend, he has to skip 15m anyways and go to 17 or more. Or get a foilkite. But he's not looking to unhook at the lowest possible windspeed, he's looking to get a few more knots above his current quiver. Again, wrong. The difference between 15m and 17m is ...

Re: New Takoon SynapS Bar with unique quick release

Those 1-click reset systems do look nice, but because of the way they work I do think they're more sensitive to jamming up. Time will tell...

Re: How to beat the Woo Record...

I always thought the wavehigh wasn't counted because the Woo starts counting heigth from the moment if 'feels' you are coming of the water. So wheter your kickerwave is 1m or 10m , doesn't matter for the woo heigth. Or am I wrong? Have wondered this myself... if you boost of a 2m wave, and land on ...

Re: Pulleys on kites

The video posted on the first page of this topic explains the reason for bridle pulleys. Here is the link if you missed it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=Kh_SUh1xUZY And here are two diagrams from Airush and Naish that show why pulleys work. v3-bridle-system.png Naish Pivot Bridle...
