Re: Tube vs Softkite - an epic battle?

Higher environmental impact of foils?? They last 4x as long and use less material from the start. How is that a bigger impact? Foils relaunch faster than LEI in many situations. Y'all just been watching too many amateurs do it. 10000+ hours on foils then see what can be done :-) Now wheres my TP. T...

Re: Tube vs Softkite - an epic battle?

This article focusses on the 2 classic shapes, but what if you compare a Genetrix Hydra with a Peter Lynn Charger?

Base coat is key, either “base coat” wax or something harder than the temp your riding in. Then a light coat of the proper temp. Lasts much longer, and usually just needs touch ups of the warmer wax.

Sticky bumps is my fave.
Still needed to wax every session...

Re: Surf wax recommendations

If you´re honest, pads outperform wax in each and every aspect. But it´s not "original surf style" :nono: :naughty: I´ve tried many different waxes and I´m riding in cool/cold water exclusively (= easier for wax to stay in place). Wax is 20th century technology, let´s face it. And surfing is ultra-...

Re: Duotone

I like the 2018 kites but the were a bit too stealthy in the sky and too similar between types. Based on that video, the kites are more visible in the sky. I still don't understand why the kite size can't be printed plainly visible in large numbers on the canopy. The most expensive change I've seen...

Re: Switch Lineup

Im 100kg with wet gear and I ride a TT 140x42, got the H3 16, had the H2 15.5 before. I can use the H3 down to around 10kn, not feeling any lag of power. :D thanks for advice. I am an owner of 16m H3 now :) Feels very light weight, well made. Turns fast, almost comparable to my 2015 Nobile T5 12m. ...

Re: Question about boots & progressing

Get more of that weight on your front leg. Sounds like you're just pushing the backside of the rail into the water, killing the effective edging surface and upwind course. When less powered, same but stand up more straight and keep the kite higher. Otherwise, lean into the kite and keep it lower. Mi...

Re: 2019 Slingshot Material

2019 slingshot already available. They say in the website terms as "bomb proof surf tough construction" (sst kite) which is very common nowadays among the manufacturers. But looks like the canopy material it's the same... The same as always to be honest. This way they're one of the only major brand...

Re: making a new control bar

https://www.cabrinhakites.com/collections/spare-parts/products/quickloop-complete-qr-system Costs 77€ Price is acceptable. QR has almost the same issues why I don't like the BWS release... mostly the donkey dick. But I don't like the way it resets too when you hold it and the kite is powered. I'm l...

Re: making a new control bar

Personal favourite release mechanism is the BRM Cloud system. I've customised mine, but the principle is the same. Really simple, great idea and it works well. No more chickenloop, so you can extend your bar throw if you wish. Or not. The release mechanism is also how you disconnect from the kite w...
