Re: Ride Engine 2018 Harnesses

I tried out my 2018 RE Hex at the Weekend setup with normal fixed hook and gotta say that I love it, but I have loved all the previous versions. The updates this year are to the velcro belt, the foam on the inside, much improved webbing and of course the new closure system. Personally I've never had...

Re: Airush Union III: Throw Loops, Throw Spray, & Throw It Down

Interesting. Why is that? Is the Union more "solid/stiff" or how would you describe the difference? Simply put - as the wind approaches the kite's top end (for heavier riders), Bandit becomes very edgy/nervous/uncomfortable. Union is very different in that regard and even when seriously over-powere...

Re: Airush Union III: Throw Loops, Throw Spray, & Throw It Down

Airush Union-III (2018 Release) 12m & 9m Review So I was lucky enough to get my hands on some of the first Airush Union-III’s to leave the factory and even luckier to score some decent winds to test the 12m and 9m kites in a range of conditions. There is some great information about them from the de...

Re: Best place to retire in Europe for Old boy board freak

Seems like the best plan is a place in Canaries or Portugal or Greece and get out to NE Brazil or other warmer climate for a 6 week trip mid winter. The wife hates to be on the road in a car/vehicle. She puts up with me, so there's always a compromise. Dimitri, I already left the USA last time a TV...

Re: Best place to retire in Europe for Old boy board freak

If you don't want Europe and want consistent wind with waves or flat then how about here Sorry for the blatent pimp of my place  However if I had the Money I'd live in El Medano Tenerife - been there loads of times, not the best kitespot in the world but I like the town, the vibe, the food and...

Re: Favourite Foot Straps & Pads Combination

You are probably aware but you can adjust the tension on the neoprene of the Shinn straps by changing there attachment to the fixing bolt?

I personally love the new setup - I've got quite narrow size 8 feet but with both 6mm Atan (Scotland) or 3mm Xcel boots they are great.

Re: Patagonia vs RideEngine wetsuits

I have the RE Apoc 5/4 Hooded suit and it has keep me warm to even too warm at times here this winter in Scotland. I wore it on the beach whilst marshalling a big air comp in sub 5 degree C temps (I also got to ride hence the suit) and was warm. I was also out this past weekend when we had a rather...

2017 Ride Engine Hex Harness

I was sent my 2017 Hex up by Rich at Ride Engine UK (thanks for the awesome service as usual). Comparing it to the 2016 version there has been some tweaks to the build - the webbing placement and routing to tighten the harness, there is extra foam in lining and it feels slightly stiffer. Last year I...

Re: Woo 2?

I did test of a 1.0 and 2.0 on the same board, same session and the 2.0 consistently measured jumps slightly higher and the max was 8.6m versus 9.0m (1.0 / 2.0). They claimed to have improved the accuracy so I'm going with the 2.0 scores ;-)
