Re: Sub 5 knots of Wind with this Setup! The Future of Wing Foiling?

I have chased the LW wing dream with the pre-dw gear ... and found the problem was, once up on foil, you have no gas pedal to do anything fun. Though I can understand how the challenges of making it work are enough for some people ... honestly I kind of envy that degree of stoke, as the crazed froth...

Re: Wing Manufacturers

What about all those wings on alibaba and aliexpress WINNOVATEIMG_5565.png I guess most of them are "rebranded" versions of other brands... Hard to know if only looking similar or same factory... if you buy a certain #, they will customize with your colours and graphics. Anyone can have a wing bran...

Re: Kiteboarding RIP ?

Bored random scrolling, been a LONG time since I clicked on the kitesurfing section. Locally kiting is still alive but it's a fraction of what it was 5 years ago. I am disconnected from the scene, is wakestyle still a thing? Is there still a world circuit that has relevance or resonance, other than ...

Re: How to protect hands in cold water when winging

Tbh...I now have to be pretty desperate to bother below 5c....just too painful But back in the frenzy stoked days,we'd attempt to kite sub zero. I started into an experiment...2 rubber tunebs run through wetsuit into gloves, exiting at neck. You can blow some warm breath into gloves. Worked in tests...

Re: How to protect hands in cold water when winging

Cold fingers sux. It is a pretty significant detriment to winging for about 2 months a year where we are. I could suffer through it with ozones with the bagged out canvas strap handles...but my OR wing with the thick eva foam, I cannot hold them when it gets cold...like not physically possible. Last...

Re: Why shorter Mast for wing foil than for Kitefoil?

Because longer masts don't work as well for wave riding, and wing foiling's killer app is waves. Long masts have more drag and risk hitting bottom where the waves gets shallow. But for flat water, it'll work just fine to have a longer mast. It also works for wave riding, just not as optimal. So if y...

Re: Much difference going from 90l to 75l?

Why do you think there are so big differences in our areas regarding board sizes used for experienced riders? ... It is really odd, this difference in sizing for the experienced, worldwide  8) Peter Kite foiling had a mass delusion that you aren't be a ripper unless you're on a 10L pocketboar...

Re: Much difference going from 90l to 75l?

Depends on your size, your local wind and sea conditions, your skill level. I'm same weight. I ride rougher conditions, 99% wave focused. I copied a sky 5' 75L board found it worked well generally, but on the light side of wind range and in super choppy conditions, it could be a frustrating hassle t...

Re: Ocean Rodeo strut removal

How do you get the nozzle into the strut ? It seems sewn into the strut . Nozzle has a velcro ring on inside. You push the nozzle in and it'll detach. Before you pop it in draw a jiffy line on the hole and the nozzle, so you can line it up perfect. If twisted when you reinstall it doesn't work right

Re: Ocean Rodeo strut removal

just before end of the end of strut, you'll see a white square...that's a velcro patch, reach in and unvelcro it, then it opens up and you can pull it out. Tie a string to nozzle first.
