Re: Globerider GK3 Lift manual or specs needed

Dude! Thats an old kite for sure. Remember wanting one, and no I never did read a bad word. Would be interesting to know how it feels compared to the current C kites. I bet its slow in comparison, but otherwise fine. I have a couple old C kites. Nothing that vintage but I have an 09 I still use. Its...

Re: Chinese KB Hydrofoil : 300 USD + shipment

I get that you want to score the perfect set up right out the gate, but the fact your asking is a pretty sure sign your not gonna pull it off. I wanted to get a foil to last and it took, knowing what style I wanted to get into and a decent bit of research to understand what the better options were. ...

Re: Naish Foiling 2018

Looking at where the tracks are on their windfoil boards compared to where they are on their SUP foil boards, it looks like the crossover is meant to take the surf foil, not their windfoil. The windfoil has the mast further back on the fuse to go with the tracks being near the tail of the boards. Th...

Re: Naish Foiling 2018

Kiting a 120L board with a windfoil would be quite different from using a kite foil and board. In general the learning curve is fairly different from how most perceive it before getting their feet wet. Foinling is a tough one to be accurate with "on paper" predictions without any practical experienc...

Re: Building a lightweight compact plywood hydrofoil board

Not sure a full wood core can be light too.

I have a skim that works well, but to get one that was stiff enough it comes in at almost 10 lbs. 5 layers of hardwood with high density plastic laminate on top and bottom.

Re: Fastest turning wave/boost kite

When you have a kite with a pivoting turn, yeah it's going to turn fast, but will you be powered through those turns? No, not at all. i mean, they will still have their place in the kiting community, begginer loopers probably love them since they don't deliver a gut wrenching yank. Sure thing macho...

Re: Best Kite for Downwinders- Recomendations.

twin tip or surfboard? On a surfboard your generally riding waves and better off with a kite that shuts off, drifts and turns well with low line tension. Thats different from riding slightly off the wind line tensioned while playing your edge and looking to boost. Drift is a real low line tension tr...

Re: Best Kite for Downwinders- Recomendations.

I guess that totally depends on what your doing. Down in Hatteras there are two very different options, so two very different kites. Now with foiling, there is at least a third. Sound side hitting all the slicks is super fun and screams for an all out C kite. You lose so much ground when unhooking s...

Re: Red Bull Megaloop in the Netherlands

They were so overpowered, it was really onshore and there was crazy sweep. Super tough conditions. Watched enough to see state of the art kites rattling, surging and jellyfishing all over the place. We're any actually on 9m kites !? Mortals are overpowered on 7's in 40 knots and there looked to be m...

Re: Red Bull Megaloop in the Netherlands

Lasses Walker scored a 9.0 and a 9.5 ! They were pretty impressive. Might even have been in the same heat. All of it after a decent crash.
