Re: how many squaremeters between the first 2 kites for a beginner?

I love wind range graphs. Marketing science voodoo at its best. Complicates things when you want to stick to a particular model that only comes in specific gaps..... more voodoo at work. Keep in mind you might also start thinking about surfboards or even a foil. A 12/10 has no where near the versati...

Re: how many squaremeters between the first 2 kites for a beginner?

Let's not forget that 12m is a bit to big for the guy to start with and he should have a smaller kite for regular winds... ?? Too big? Just right for 80 kg and two boards. There are a lot of ways to build a quiver. But the guy already has a 12. Beginners need that little extra horse power. Starting...

Re: how many squaremeters between the first 2 kites for a beginner?

Bullshit.

Until your down under 9m 2 and 1m gaps are for enthusiasts. Most rider out there are just fine with 12/9/7 regardless of where and how they ride.

Re: Shocking Winds!!!

More rain in one month than in the entire preceding three years may well spell the end of a drought, but is it a return to normal? I think if you look up agenda, your behavior fits right in there: Agenda, an underlying often ideological plan or program. You even have your own gain in mind as you so ...

Re: how many squaremeters between the first 2 kites for a beginner?

Yeah I agree, 7 is a better step down from 9.

Makes no difference for the OP. We seem to have decent consensus that 9 is a logical step down from the 12 he already has.

Re: Swim out and drift launch with a foil board techniques

Prefer the the compact and snag proof idea of a properly loaded stuff sack to loose and looped zig zag lines. If I have learned anything about drift launching its that loops of line knot and snag easily and get unwieldy fast. A tight sack Keeps the lines compact and cleanly spools them out at the ra...

Re: Swim out and drift launch with a foil board techniques

That sounds totally crazy to me! I can't imagine having the board in the water far away and not under my direct control unless its on land in a spot that's easy enough to collect with a kite in the air. I have had at least three close calls losing track off the board after a crash. You take your eye...

Re: Swim out and drift launch with a foil board techniques

I drift launch with swimming out with both kite and board. So far I just take care to be holding my board either between my legs while sitting on it, or just continually pushing it upwind of my ever couple of seconds. My board does not swim downwind very fast as it has no volume an sits low in the w...

Re: Sealing zeeko mast

I took mine apart a few times this season and think it was overkill for a fresh water place. Moving forward I'll check and snug bolts every couple of weeks, but only take it fully apart maybe once mid season to have a good look and add a little tef gel to the threads. That plus a full dismantle for ...

Re: The Truth behind Naish Warranties

What bothers me with this whole thread is that the OP wouldn't offer up pictures of the damage to the kite....this is the first time that I have ever seen anyone do that. The shop quickly displayed the photo's as it clearly shows the damaged area's to the kite and how there was something sharp that...
