Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

I sort of agree with the above. Half the issue is the heavy chunk that is the average CL release. That slingy one is one of the heaviest on the market. I would keep a close eye on the metal portion at either end of what was the original loop. The direction of force may have changed in your shortened...

Re: Ankle leash on a surfboard?

What about other peoples safety in the waves?! If you loose your board in a wave it could hit someone else. You do not want to be responsible for that. Anyone who goes into proper waves without a leash, especially when other water users are around is risking other people health. Try paddling to a l...

Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

You could rig it using the ring as designed and not sacrifice any length on what you have pictured.

Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

You have inappropriately used the low friction ring, at least as far as it's designed. Your relying on it for tensile strength as a link, and it is made of aluminum and not strong enough for that purpose. It was designed to lower friction under compressive loads only. It is meant to be a barrier bet...

Re: Don't show us your hook

Yeah, swage eye is a close estimate, but you gotta salvage and covet the real deal pins where you can. They have the two little prongs on either side to keep the pin seated properly and not pop through the ring they are fastened to as well as the proper offset of the pin to seat and open perfectly u...

Re: Global Kiteboarding Population

Does owning gear qualify you as a kiter? Are you a golfer if you only get 4-5 rounds in a year? Many would say they golf, but are not golfers Are you a skier if you get two weekends in a year? Where many ski less than they golf, more of them would identify as skiers, than say, they occasionally ski....

Re: one strut vs strutless

Revhed, you gotta let it go. People use language incorrectly constantly. If you constantly correct them, your likely to come across as a bit of a tool. The best you can do is use the correct terms yourself and give up the mission of policing everyone else. Peter is just trying to make a point. One t...

Re: strapless hydrofoiling from the beginning on a zeeko spitfire

It's way more stable, but not quite like jybing a surfboard, you still have to stay aligned with the mast. For sure learn everything on the surface first. Flying through a move is just an extension of being able to do it on the water. Eventually you have the confidence to do each move with the speed...
