Re: Leonardo DiCaprio learns kiteboarding

Typical shite lesson. No impact vest (especially for land based strapped in action. Seat harness would be better.
With all his money couldn't he afford a decent school. Couldn't he buy the school and get free lessons !!

Stefan1 wrote:why do you need 26m lines with 7m kite :baby: ?
longer lines on a bigger bar. Long lines = more power - bigger bar = faster turning to compensate the longer lines. Pretty basic stuff really.

Re: Board for choppy conditions

Never rode the Mako but seems popular but i've seen one broken in half and it looked like its just a foam core. OK If you are just cruising i suppose, Its a trade off usually, Flat boards spray curvy (rocker) boards don't but they need more wind to enable you to ride. Nobile NHP or the old 50Fifty's...

Re: Safety releases for harnesses

Are we really hearing things like "use a witchard as another safety" here? Lenker was was wanting safety and not 2003 witchards that don't release under load. The mystic system seems a favourite and there are others like the surefire that have been around a while. A decebt shop should be able to ord...

Re: Slingshot kites & bars

The 2015 9m Rally should have been supplied with a 20"bar and 23m lines. So if you use this bar the kite will be faster (as previously stated by other posts) BUT also it will be more powerful due to the 3m extra line length increasing your wind window radius. Check the attachment points at the rear ...

Re: 2014 Slingshot RPM!

Massimo. Clear brand bashing! All but a few of kiters pump their kite up and leave it out on the beach for the entire duration of their time there. Even if there is a compressor, virtually none deflate between sessions. BUT then this should effect all kites equally. Does the RPM suffer more than oth...

Re: La Manga (Spain)

Yeap, i visited in June a couple of years back. Wind most days but very very light. I'd need my 17 which i have now. If your 50kg and have a 13m kite you might be ok, if not then fat skim board and monster kite is needed. Awesome spot though! Shame its not that windy. One of the kite centres has a r...

Re: I am warning you IKO i want my money back.

Who was the examiner? Some were good, the currrent ones sent here are a joke. I've watched the candidates take their exam students and witnessed such a debarcle and think, he or she must have failed. A week later i see them teaching for a school. I mean it was amateur/ comedy hour BAD !! WHEN will s...

Re: Slingshot rpm tuning

The kite needs alot of wind. Sounds like you went out totally underpowered. No power at all with last knot and back stalling on the first know from the kite. Middle knots front and back should have you pretty much plug and play mode. I need 15 knots + for my 12 before i even look at trading down a s...
