Re: The Safety Topic: please post your experience and advice!

most of the time we use sand bags as a kite launcher or lander. especially in strong conditions it works very well. absolutely great when going alone. also if everybody is already on the water and you come last (or leave last). only works with bow or hybrid kites because of their passive safety. so ...

it always shocks me when i read about another fatal accident - my sincere condolences to the family. as a father of 3 young children and instructor i try to fully understand the causes of those tragic events. some speculation what might have happened - because i also experienced a switchblade doing ...

i had the seam problem on both sb and xbow. especially on the struts (but also on main bladder). clued long pieces of repair tape over the strut seams. is not very pretty but does hold it together. can't bother to send the kites to get repaired. cabrinha is not very good in customer service and imme...

have a 12m rebel, 76kg, 128 flx i also thought that an extra knot might help, because all my friends on crossbows were going better in low winds. but today i changed the power strap unit to the green setting and also the back lines on the bar ends to the green settings. i was going much better in lo...

hi rickI, you misunderstood. the leash was attached to the main line just above the quick release - below the bar. because one backline was wrapped around the whole bar, the pulley won't work and sheating out is uneffective (the rear line was way too short at that moment). the first instinct was pul...

had my own experience on my switchblade 9 doing the spirals endlessly very gusty 25knots and was about 800m away from beach. downlooped the kite and did a bottom turn on a wave. hit the water and kite landed leading edge facing me. tide was going out rapidly. started to pull on one backline, didn't ...

i've got the 14 contra. good pull in 10knots (much more than 12 cb) but fairly slow turning (also have the 12cb which turns much quicker). i think the 14 contra is more for relaxed riding. the other day it was to light (around 6knots) to go kiting and flew it on the beach back to back with rebel 14....

thanks steve may be cabrinha should have got in contact with those who received the early batches instead of waiting for claims. is there a link on the cabrinha webside about that? warranty or not, i just find it easier to fix it myself instead of sending kite away for weeks. not having a kite would...

good for pointing out. will check it tommorrow. i found on my x-bow and sw that the struts wear quite significantly on the stitching. only after the first strut blew i started checking them all. i reinforced almost all struts on the stitching (both kites) by clueing a long piece of repair cloth on. ...

"I've recently started using a slingshot surefire spreader bar with spinning leash and am still trying to work out the best place to attach it to my crossbow. Before I had the leash, when I self landed on water, I depowered the kite at the edge of the window and then grabbed the front line ball whic...
