Re: would have been the powerlock

2 weeks ago the cab powerlockwas my favorite, great grip, nice loop, safety, etc. Until it broke and i had a 45 minute swim in rather sharky water. then I read about all of the similar problems people are having, and the lack of responsefrom cab, so now its a little hard to reccomend one. I went ba...

Interesting idea on the backup rope... what strength is that rope weighted for? Also, does the swivel actually make a difference? I thought they didn't spin under load. Have about 10 hours on my replacement loop... no breakage so far. I was a little skeptical when it arrived, as it looks IDENTICAL t...

Hopefully you bought it from a good dealer and you can just warranty it through them. Just show them the broken bar and they should be able to help you from there.

I think around 20. Maybe 25. Not a whole lot. And it didn't die in some huge horrendous crash either, it was just loading up for a nicely powered jump in big kite conditions.

First of all, let me plug Phil ^ for being a GREAT dealer. :) Second, here is a picture of my failed Powerlock. You can see where the whole for the pin is... I think they fail because that pin is just cutting strands of the rope, then putting stress on it (lots of stress) from the inside of the rope...

BTW, in case anyone is curious what a failed one looks like, here is a picture of mine. You can see where the whole for the pin is... I think they fail because that pin is just cutting strands of the rope, then putting stress on it (lots of stress) from the inside of the rope... not how a rope is de...

Well, I have a new one coming, supposedly built with the new method. My old one broke despite never being spun while locked and my kite being rigged correctly. I hope that it was just a bad batch that got out.

Just had mine break on me as well. They are going to warranty it, I really hope they have fixed it, or I will be going through this process every two weeks... my bar had maybe ~20 hours on it before it broke mid jump. I never spun the bar back while locked, but i ALWAYS jumped locked in. If I can't ...

I have tried the QR under full body weight. The difficulty of release did not increase one bit and it released very easily when I pulled it. The one problem you may have, is that it will NOT release unless its under significant load... The way I ride this is not a problem, I just unhook if the kite ...

Actually, you can see if they are stitched correctly, the grain, orientation of the threads, or whatever (i dont know what else to call it) is not the same from panel to panel on the one side.
