Re: How can I repair loose stitching..Please help

Is it the LE closing seam? (the long seam which runs all along the LE) I have repaired a number of patches of broken stitching over the years on these seams. If you dont want to use a machine, you can just use a needle and thick polyester sail thread and restitch through the orininal stitching holes...

Re: Top 3 kites for unhooking?

I dont ride unhooked so maybe I am wrong, but reading through this I am amazed about the "Kite needs to be tuned out the bag" comments. Most kites come with more than one knot on the kite pitails, so just use a knot further away from the kite for unhooked than you would for hooked, or pull depower s...

Re: Liquid Force Havoc 2009 users! Problem?

I have not flown the Havoc, but I have just had 2 sessions demo-ing the 09 9m comp and I had it drop from the sky the first time it was at 12 and I let the bar out! ....luckily I caught it by running backwards as I was on the beach in light-ish winds. I then moved the stopper down a bit and the kite...

Re: Tips and Tricks to Repair Kites - add your experience!

Thanks guy's, The kites unpicked and ready to go! Not sure to use my machine or a friends who has a industrial one for sail repairs, which is set up with heavy thread and should give more room to get kite under. I think I will get a new kite anyway and keep this one as a spare as I think the materia...

Re: Tips and Tricks to Repair Kites - add your experience!

Thanks for reply. I will start at the LE end and see how much room I need to open the strut and get a patch on. I guess if I take the strut off all the canopy it will be easier to get under the machine but more work to get back in the right place. I have managed to rip 3 struts in half so I guess I ...

Re: Tips and Tricks to Repair Kites - add your experience!

Hi, I have some ripped struts and wondered if I have to unstitch the whole strut from the canopy before I can add a patch. The strut has ripped in half on a segment seam near the one pump tube.

Cheers,
Si.

Re: ION 3 Jellyfishing

My 12.5 can do the same in higher gusty wind, you cant really see it in the kite, but the Bar rocks back and forth.
I have sent it back and had it checked and some stitching repaired but it still does it.

Re: Flexifoil Ion 3 build quality you be the judge!

Cheers for that Satan...this "jerk" has already repaired his new Ion 3 himself twice without fuss (ist time after sailing ONCE ..all repairs undone/bust stitching on LE seam). My kite has not burst it just has stitching breaking at most segment joins and if you read my thread on the Flexi forum I am...

Re: Flexifoil Ion 3 build quality you be the judge!

I must agree about the long LE seam, I have a thread running on the flexi forum about it on my Ion 3. The rest of the kite looks well made like my Ion1/2 but the seam on my 12.5 ion3 has now had 7 different areas of stitching come undone where the segment seams cross the LE seam. I have had kites fr...

Re: The lesson from hell !!

Hi Dave, I believe I talked to your mate after his first lesson, and put a similar thread on the flexi forum, as I could not believe a large respected shop could give such bad lessons!! It was Poole harbour you had your lesson in? He also said he enjoyed his second lesson with the new instructor whi...
