Re: Cabrinha valve repair

Screw valve has separated from bladder. No replacement avail in the area. Is there a reliable way to repair using the original valve? I am curious to know why the valve separated. Did a front bridle line accidentally get stuck under the black plastic screw down ring, and rip it off? I have heard of...

It seems like the only way to keep those annoying bits of sand, mud and broken shells from working their way down inside shoes like that, is to wear socks....

Re: do fins really need to be so sharp?

ouch, hurt my finger on a fin, which is dangerously sharp. If you would crash on it, it will just slice into your muscles like nothing else. The sharpest fins I ever had on a board... Riding on a buggy back from the lagoon, I meet another guy, who had a deeper cut in his hand from a fin. Do they re...

Re: Bar compatibility info needed

there's no standard or compatibility chart. "COMPATIBILITY" covers a lot of ground. (1) Can the lines be properly connected? For instance...goof-proof connectors may prevent this kite from even hooking up to the bar and line system. (2) Will the kite perform properly when flying? For instance...une...

Re: Linelength for all brand kites?

MLkman, I would guess that the modern trend toward using safety systems which employ the short (about 3 meters) "false fifth line" ( "life line", "IDS line", "Red line", etc) may account for the fact that the 2 front lines are shorter than the 2 back lines. In these safety systems, the front lines a...

Re: Self-rescue question ...

I'd add to the objections about pulling yourself to your kite, and then wrapping up the lines. Not good advice in certain conditions. Where I kite there's often a lot of weeds in the water that snag lines like crazy and make the kite do strange things. Wrapping up the lines as you go reduces that t...

Re: Fixing inversion on the water... smart or stupid?

The question I have is, if I wanted to fix it out on the water how should I have passed the bar? thanks If you really want to understand how to fix this kind of a situation, on the water, don't start out by trying to fix the situation on the water, but do it in the relative safety of your kitchen t...

Re: Ocean Rodeo raises the bar to a whole new level

So, will the 2011 safety flag the kite out on one line? or the 2 front lines?

On a related note, why not just include an "Oh sh@@" handle on one of the rear lines, as was suggested above? It could be used for downing the kite onto one line in an extreme situation like the one described above.

Re: Wanna SUK

Could somebody please explain the point of kiting with a 10" board? It appears to be one of those things that "if you have to ask the question, you won't be able to understand the answer." You either think like the character in "the wind in the willows" or you don't. He says: "Simply messing...abou...
