Re: Looking for cheap lines supplier

A friend and I did this. I definitely recommend it - it is not hard to sew or splice your own lines. Here's a summary of what I have learned: - Get front line material that is slightly thicker than the back line material. Front lines take a greater share of the load. Doing this means they will stret...

Re: Anyone ever build their own harness?

I built my own waist harness along the lines of the original Ride Engine customs. It's been going strong for 5 years now. It's not at all difficult. Here's how RE did it: 1) Make a thermoplastic mould of your back 2) use the outside of the mould to form a custom harness Here's how I did it: 1) Make ...

Re: Stringer in small foilbord?

Thanks TomW - did not mean to wind you up... Also thought about getting this track box - https://www.mackiteboarding.com/ride-engine-foil-track-box/ Available June 2020. you can buy that. It will save work. Other option is to buy the boxes separate and get some HD foam and build it yourself. You mi...

1. Good sunnies that does not fog and let water in.
Me too. Every single pair of water sunglasses I've tried has been sort of OK in fresh water, but horrible in salt water.

Re: Duotone Introduces The Capa - Freeride Foil Kite

I'm not sure why Duotone made this thing. They must not have read PumpMeUp's 2019 market analysis of foil kites.

There’s a lot of variety in the sport and I think it is healthy, I’d like to see it show cased.

Re: Cheaper options for new-style surfboard pad (flat & grooved ala Duotone)?

I have used one of those for a front foot pad. Grip and durability seem to be fine. If you have coarse sand at your spot, it will get stuck in the grooves. I still prefer the diamond pattern grips.

Re: BRM Cloud vs Ozone Reo

Alright... I'll clarify my reasons for asking. I have been on the Cloud since the first generation. I love them as a wave kite, but I also love my heavily rockered surfboard. I don't ride hydrofoils, putting me in the minority for Cloud fans. Some of my favourite waves around here have really holey ...

BRM Cloud vs Ozone Reo

Hi all,

Interested to hear from anyone who has flown both the Cloud D or E and the Reo v4 or v5. The thing I'd be most interested in hearing about is which goes upwind better.

Thanks!
