Re: Unwanted 'unhooking' while launching

The problem is the angle of the hook Mr. jb74 . So definitely you need to have a longer Donkey Stick so it won't come out when your are launching your kite. Because this is when your CL gets stretched from the two forces pulling against each other. So the best thing to do in order to keep your loop...

Re: Unwanted 'unhooking' while launching

Hello Mr. jb74 . The set up you have on these pictures are very very dangerous. So please don't use this set up at all. Probably the reason your CL is coming " unhooked " from your harness hook is because the Donkey Stick is probably too short and this is the reason why the CL is falling off from y...

Re: Unwanted 'unhooking' while launching

Oh no....don't do that. Under load it will NOT release when you need it to. easiest solution is to either replace/extend the donkey dick so you can use that during the launch. Good luck Hm....you may be right. Meanwhile, I was trying the release at home with this set up and it work smoothly only tw...

Unwanted 'unhooking' while launching

It's the second time (in two years - since I have my Ozone Catalyst) that the chicken loop 'unhooks' while launching. Could have been ended badly. But fortunately I was not overpowered so, I did not have to let the kite on leash (like at the first time when it happened to me) and could 're-hook'. Bo...

Re: Portugal - Lisbon

it´ actually a bit stupid, from Norh to South will be something like this - Nova Vaga for swimmers, no kite - Nova Vaga for kite surf school and some others - 50m - Bela Vista for swimmers - 50m, no kite - Bela Vista for kite - 300m guess the captain just kept Nova Vaga for kite out of tradition, o...

Re: Portugal - Lisbon

Are you sure about Nova Vaga? For beginners only in 2015? I'm about to plan all my vacation around this spot. I mean we'll rent a car but I'm looking for accommodation close to Nova Vaga as we planned to ride mainly at this spot. But your words gave me second thoughts. Do you know from where can I ...

Re: Portugal - Lisbon

I used to kite most of the time at Nova Vaga, but I was told it will be exclusively for kite lessons this summer. The next beach from Nova Vaga (going south), praia da Bela Vista, seems to be open to kitesurfing this year, and I believe there is at least one school there already, you can check the ...

Re: Split board

Well it's quite a stiff board and I prefer a bit more flex. There is no abs rail or bottom sheet, it's all carbon, so I try not to hit anything hard or run aground with it. That being said, it's lasted pretty good sofar and I've fixed a few scratches with epoxy when needed. Pads and fins are bolted...

Re: Split board

[quote="rynhardt"]I've had the Progeni board for a few years - not selling it, but it's a good board. I've painted mine red and orange because the pure carbon is difficult to spot in the water.

Hi rynhardt,
Are you happy with the Progeni board? Have you experienced any downside of the splitboard?

There is no restriction where you can launch so if you want to, go towards the town and launch there. most people are lazy or need an assistant, so they launch right in front of the schools.
Thanks Mark. Good to know. Sounds way better than launching from the school only.
