Lamu, Kenya

Hi

Might be there around the end of March. Apparently you can windsurf there so assume kitesurf would be OK in theory.

Has anyone been? Any particular island to head for?

Nothing on kitebeaches, very little on google.

Advice appreciated.

Cheers
Paul.

Re: a suggest

As for entering in big shore-pound run down the beach as far as you can with board in hand throw it on the sand step in and let wave crash on you(get ready) with kite toward the sea once it has passed ride out the backside ,if you fall down in big shore-pound it's going to be a mess :thumb: excelle...

thing i hate is fluky wind.... and when it drops just as you're about to turn or shift downwind, leaving you almost stationary looking up at the wave breaking on you. if in the rinse cycle, you need to get the kite flagged out on to one line pdq. if it hits the water it can get shredded. flagged out...

hey bill just noticed your location. we have a couple of halo fliers up here, one on a 10m and one on a 14m. re: inverting, i think flagging to one line is only option. to avoid, keep some back line tension at all times. come and introduce yourself on http://www.nekitesurfing.co.uk/chat/ , there's a...

What are the experiences carrying boards on Euro airlines, budget and otherwise? massive variation. read the airline's excess baggage policy before booking (or at least flying) on their web site and make your kites/boards appear to be whatever they charge least for. depending on who they are it cou...

little bits of sand i reckoned, rubbing against the leading edge when fully inflated. the holes were literally pin-hole sized, no chance of seeing them by eye. once i'd located them i ringed them up with a marker! i made sure that i vacuum'd out the leading edge before replacing the bladder to remov...

i've found two pin hole leaks on the leading edge bladder of a 20m kite. took me about 20mins. partially inflate the bladder - about half or so. twist the bladder at two points to create a 2 ft section. dunk this in a bath. squeeze to increase the air pressure. look for bubbles. if it doesn't quite ...
