Anybody have a Japanese made Axxe wetsuit or Isurus wetsuit?

I am looking at custom made Japanese wetsuits from Axxe (3mm and 5mm/3mm with hood) - Bohemian V version - http://axxe.jp/us/bohemian.html Does anyone have any feedback on the Axxe brand wetsuit? It is an expensive custom made suit. Other Japanese custom companies are Bewet, Cyber, Seventh Wave (NZ)...

Re: Roll Call - Older Kooks & Seasoned Age Kiteboarders

Wow, I'm in my mid fifties and I kite like a 20yr old! You don't have to hold back at all. Just go out and hit it as hard as possible! You're not going to break! Yikes, I've got to stop reading this stuff or you'll have me thinking i'm getting old! :nono: Now let me get back to my rocking chair! Gu...

Bay Surfer - in your view, what's a small kite? I do have a 9m Switchblade kite (and I'm a 198 pound guy), but at my level of experience, I don't plan to go out in anything greater than 25 to 28 mph.

Roll Call - Older Kooks & Seasoned Age Kiteboarders

I am new to kiteboarding at age 50 and was wondering about the older gents that were kiteboarding. I have always been very fit and athletic, but of course, my extended family has thrown in the idle comment or two about "aren't you a little old for something this extreme?". My answer has been heck no...

Cab Switchblade Quiver for a Larger Rider

I am trying to make a final decision on a 2014 Cabrinha Switchblade quiver. Quick facts about me: - I am a beginner with four water lessons under my belt. This is my first kite purchase. - I weigh 198 pounds or 90 kilos. - I will be riding a Shinn RED 141 x 44. - Wind conditions here on the southeas...

Re: Bandit 6 with any standard 4 lines bar?

From F-One's website on the Bandit 6: EVO DEPOWER AND LIFE LINE The EVO is a V shaped bridle featuring a pulley on each front line, this system offers complete safety and allows for increased de-power by finely tuning the angle of attack of the kite. When the quick release is activated the EVO syste...

Re: Bandit 6 with any standard 4 lines bar?

Same line of questioning. Will the North Quad Control bar (with 24m line length - i.e., 24m is what's included according to the F-One website for the Bandits) and the overall safety system work as designed with the 2013 Bandit 6's? I am looking for a different control bar (other than the F-One monol...

Kite selection - F-One Bandit 6 quiver

I am getting ready to buy my FIRST kites as a BEGINNER (at this point, I have completed four water lessons). I am 90 kilos or 198 pounds and will be riding in conditions in southeastern North Carolina (U.S.A.) that are typically 15 to 19 knots on a good day and 20 to 23 knots on a great day (which a...

Any reviews of the Shinn Red?

I have been looking hard at the Shinn Speedball W18. I also wanted to find out more about the Shinn Red. I have searched a number of kiteboarding forums (including the UK and Australian forums) looking for reviews on the new Shinn Red. No real luck. I am especially interested in the Red 141 x 44 (du...

Re: Shinn Dundee 135 x 44

Also consider the Speedball W18 - I hear some heavier riders replace Dundees with Speedballs to extend range. Although it is wide it doesn't feel that big. Not saying it is better than Dundee, which I don't know, just an alternative. I ride W18 for light wind at 69kg and find it quite agile - but a...
