Re: Weed now legal in South Africa

I once heard about a study using airplane flight simulators. Trained pilots were tested on the simulators to determine if alcohol impaired their performance. The results showed that pilots performed best after 1-2 drinks. No drinks or more than 2 drinks resulted in lower scores. The explanation was...

Re: Foilers vs Kiters proportion now

Yeah very much location dependent.
Cape town for example is probably 99% TT's and directionals, maybe 1% foils.

Re: Convertible challenge

I have had the convertible project on the back burner for a while, but getting ready to laminate. I have been thinking of applying the 6oz carbon twill at 45 degrees to get strength, reasonably light weight and ability to tune flex with 0-90 patches and some uni, so the board will ride ok without t...

Re: How to build a bar? Just the rod/pole item ~60cm. Anyone done it?

I am rigging a couple of bars with different configurations. One I will have a single center depower line using 3/16 (4.7625mm) Amsteel. I want to protect it from wear, so I want to try covering it with 3/16ID Polyurethane tubing. Is there a specific type of PU tubing I should be using. I was think...

I just don't get the resistance to seats. They work better, give you much better support , less chance of rib injuries, and a far more comfortable IMO.
Yeah but they don't look as cool
Especially if you want to rock the whole boardshorts over wetsuit look..

Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

I still think the BRM solution is the simplest, easiest and safest.
If you really need a swivel then any rated marine swivel will do, just add it in between the harness attachment and the release.

Re: New member from Florida

Hello, just wanted to give a quick update to my post :-) 6 months into kiteboarding now. Probably had over 25 sessions and finally starter to do small jumps. I might get a new board soon. What would you recommend for transition? Note: the wind literally disappeared here in Florida this summer :-( G...

This is from last night 4th annual kite film festival ….Boston
Great kite scene we have here. This small lagoon is Pleasure Bay in South Boston. Fun little spot that is a wind machine, when there is hardly any wind in the area there is almost always some wind here, even in the summer..
