Re: Best "FreeRace" Foil Kite?

What is your recommendation for a great "FreeRace" foil kite? I am thinking of a 2-kite quiver, 11m and 15m. More wind than that and I'll probably stick to my LEI. I am not on the racing scene, so I don't necessarily need a race-only kite. I have both a race foil and a freeride foil, and I simply e...

Re: Best "FreeRace" Foil Kite?

Sonic 2 has better upwind than the Soul but just about everything else goes towards the Soul. Honestly though you could get a Soul 12m and mess with line lengths and cover both sizes pretty easily and will be an easier foil to learn on.

Re: Hyperlink 12m vs Soul 12m

Cons: - Priiice! From a quick google search, I've found shops list price being less than a $200 USD price difference between the two kites with the Soul being the higher priced. The thing about the Soul is a 10m would produce almost as much power as a hyperlink 12m so then that price difference wou...

Re: Flysurfer Soul

Hi guys , Wasn’t sure wether to start a new thread on this one but here goes. So I bought a 12m soul for lightwind foiling and yes it’s awesome and will get me going in 7/8 mph and it has great relaunching but and it’s a big BUT im overpowered at about 12mph on a foil board. I’ve tried different li...

Re: Flysurfer Soul

I didn't really like it, but can't fault it since below is very personal feeling. Here is why: - quite high bar pressure - quite slow, well not quite, sloooow. 12m, 15-17kn - doesn't pivot (like I would expect from a Sonic and R1 background)* - feels like a truck pulling me - upwind on TT is averag...

Re: Miami in Oct and Nov

I was there last winter and i think you have to have an IKO card and i think some kind of liability insurance for Crandon...29th street i guess i met some really nice kiters....really groovy folks and a happening scene. I think they all wanted you to have an IKO card so you dont ruin it for everyon...

Re: Miami in Oct and Nov

http://se.kiteforum.com/kitesurf/spot/Miami_Beach___76th_Street_ That link doesn’t work Toby and there’s really not that information out there on where exactly you can kite. Can’t do Crandon because I never got around to getting a cert lvl and really don’t have time while I’m here to do it. I know ...

Re: Flysurfer Soul

This might be a dumb question but can you use a carabiner to self land the Soul? The backstall method usually ends up in a twisted mess for me. Might be pulling too much steering lines which ends up having the trailing edge flip up and tumble the kite. Are you talking about attaching to a fixed obj...

Re: Thailand: Hua Hin vs Rawai (Phuket)

I just came from spending 3 weeks in Phuket and I absolutely loved it. I stayed at the Friendship beach resort which is right on the beach for 45 USD. There’s a kite center right next door but I was on the wrong side of the island for the season. Good thing about the island is there’s a beach for ev...
