Re: Advice from an older married kiter to a young one

Very good advice by the TO :thumb:

Russians seem to have their very own estimation of the worth of human lifes, or life in general. It seems to be more important to wrestle down a bear in your speedos...

Re: German online shops, info plz !

If you can accept potentially longish / unpredictable shipping periods and sluggish responsiveness from shop for lowest prices: You-Love-It / Lonasport (same owner now)
If you want perfect overall service, instant responsiveness and 100 % reliability for maybe slighly higher prices: Surfpirates

Re: Surf wax recommendations

If you´re honest, pads outperform wax in each and every aspect. But it´s not "original surf style" :nono: :naughty: I´ve tried many different waxes and I´m riding in cool/cold water exclusively (= easier for wax to stay in place). Wax is 20th century technology, let´s face it. And surfing is ultra-c...

Re: Ozone Reo 5m what a mess!!!

Exactly my observation. I have the 5/7 V4 and had the 5/7/10 V3. The 7 V4 is a dream  But the 5 V4 is useless for me. Either too much power or no power delivery, hardly anything in between. Sold the 5 quickly after some tries. Unfortunately I had sold the 5 V3 before I received the V4. St...

Re: You love it - SUP and kite shop in Dusseldorf - Do not buy!

I live near this shop and have been in the shop quite some times now. It is a real shop (no fraud / fake). However, the whole admin is rather chaotic (partly based on paper notes which are flying around the counter...) and the team seems to be overloaded with online orders. They´ve installed additio...

Re: Slingshot SST vs Ozone Reo

Update on the 9 m² SST: I´ve flown it exactly 3 times. Totally useless for waveriding from my point of view! This sluggish monster generates way too much power / pull for me. Veeeery slow, veeeeeeeeeery much pull. Nice drift, though... Sold it again, staying with the 10 m Reo V3. Still searching for...

Re: High Lift Wings like Moses 633 Onda: who is it for?

As it is with current fuse, my 633 on a 105cm carbon mast already floats horizontally for 15-30 seconds when I fall off. I often need to push it down to maneuver the board... As a total foil beginner (2 sessions on my Moses 633 / Groove Skate) I can acknowledge that. The floating wing makes straple...

Re: Corrosion on Aluminium parts (Moses fuselage)

Electrical isolation of the screws isn´t sufficient in this case. Even if you´d isolate the screw heads by e.g. plastic washers, there´s still the strong contact between the conical part of the mast (bare carbon) and the fuselage (the tuttle connection). With the µm-thin Al2O3-layer as the only isol...

Re: Corrosion on Aluminium parts (Moses fuselage)

Excellent, plummet. I studied electro chemistry and know a bit about electrochemical cells  The corrosion will always happen as soon as you bring Aluminium and carbon into electrically conductive contact and add an electrolyte (sea water). No crevice is neededf or this. However, a crevice - wh...

Re: Corrosion on Aluminium parts (Moses fuselage)

The raised white crust usually occurs above pitting and is a hydrated form of the alumina, itself quite insoluble in water and to an extent protective. But it wouldn't be there so soon if the anodization was done correctly. In the interim, consider getting in a habit of wiping all the aluminum with...
