I can't help with the snowboard stance cause I ski, but I use LEI's because I can afford one set of kites and it made no sense to have on set for winter and one for summer. I have the same problem with out doing the kiteloops. Your bar diameter is too small, which causes you to grip to tight. The thumb over the top may help. I made a bar for my hand.
