Re: Saved by the wrist strap

Yeah another vote here.. horribly dangerous that! The fact that you have even considered riding like that is a little worrying :o

Re: North bag zips complete sh*t!

Stuck zippers can usually be sorted, my main issue is the zippers completely breaking. I think it is down to the combination of poor zipper quality and the fact they are under a fair bit of tension when zipping and compressing the kite. I have some outdoor gear bags with far better quality heavy dut...

Re: North bag zips complete sh*t!

Yeah true, buying a simple drawstring bag would be possible alternative but the ability to strap the bar and pump on the bag and front pocket for spares/keys etc are way to useful for me to give up. I ranted on here rather than approaching North as I guess there is zero chance of North turning aroun...

North bag zips complete sh*t!

Bit of a rant but here goes: As a long time North kite user I have a major gripe about the quality of the bags. I now have 9 North kites in the house of varying ages and every single one has broken zips. Some broke within months from new. My kites are now an unruly pile of wide open bags with kites ...

Re: Global Kiteboarding Population

Interesting that result on google trends. Try putting in other sports - Skiing, Snowboarding, Surfing and they all show the same downward trend as kitesurfing. Why?

Re: Switch Bag Any Good?

The zips will probably still go on those North Face bags eventually with the salt and sand. I've never understood why manufacturers bother with zips on kite bags. A fold over flap with clips or a drawstring make much more sense to me. Right now I have a heap of North bags with broken zips which are ...

Gaastra Flash - or other directional recommendations?

I'm looking to get my first directional and spotted these very cheap but don't know if it is suitable or not.. are they cheap for a reason? I will be riding in onshore waist to head height mushy waves, usually in strong wind and most likely strapless. I weight 65kg and at least with twintip, tend to...
