Re: Wetsuits: Front Zip Vs Back Zip

Yeah I'm sure some of these high end surf wetsuits are over- specced for kiting. The flexibility required for surfing is higher so you end up with an expensive and short lived suit. For kiting you may as well save some cash.

Re: How to ruin your vacation with Core

I think its fair to expect a brand new kite to survive some hard crashes. I'd be pissed off for sure. Anyone seen this?:

Re: Sure bet places for wind?

Summer: Sherman Island, California; Squamish; Cabarete Winter: La Ventana I definitely wouldn't class La Ventana as 95% reliable. Its good but frequently a couple of no wind days a week in season. The others I've not spent long enough at to tell but I didn't think Squamish would have 95% wind days ...

Re: Mittens vs. 3 Finger Gloves vs. 5 Finger Gloves

As mentioned, open palm mitts are by far the best option if you can get away with them. No arm pump and you can pop your hands out when rigging etc. Also on borderline days, you have the option of keeping them folded back off your hands completely and just putting them on later in the session if you...

Re: The best boosting kites. Your real world testing :)

I'm baffled as to how people get such high jumps on larger kites.. my biggest jumps are always on my 7m. On my 10m Evo I can't seem to top about 11m high even when very overpowered.

Re: Explain bar pressure please

If you use a longer bar, the bar pressure will go up. This is due to the relative sheeting and you can now oversheet the rear lines due to the longer bar. Interesting, I guess this can only be the case when you are steering i.e sheeting one end of the bar in more than the other? If the bar is sheet...

Re: Explain bar pressure please

I have always been a bit confused about how the setting B results in a slower turn - as someone mentioned, simple logic suggest that less bar input is required so turn should be quicker. I heard a description on the North Dice 2018 product clip I think that mentioned it was because as the attachment...

Re: Whats a good used kite to learn kiteloops on?

Talking of that weird power spike in the loop for some hybrids I know exactly what you mean I've noticed it with many kites - very disconcerting. As a side note, I tried a North Dice 9m recently and was surprised to discover a similar power spike in the loop even though its supposed to be a great lo...
