Re: Half a Zeeko windfoil = Spitfire monofoil

If I recall properly, in the movie below I was using front XXLW wing. Check after 1’
phpBB [video]

Slow speed attracted stall many times. Also ride close to surface reduce lift additionally, pushing me to increase AoA.

Re: Half a Zeeko windfoil = Spitfire monofoil

Thanks for the feedback. When you tried various wings behind a boat, you preferred the Carver wing. Why are you choosing the Spitfire rear wing for mono? The rear wing of the Spitfire may be quite similar in characteristics to a regular kitefoil front wing. As there are few profiles with COP moving...

Re: Half a Zeeko windfoil = Spitfire monofoil

So what is wanted is an adaptor for a main wing to bolt straight to mast. What about mast position on board? Mast should go some 10cm forward. I drilled additional hole in back Spitfire XXL wing and bolted it directly to mast. Fitted well. Most wanted is a foil with COP travel forward at lower AoA....

Half a Zeeko windfoil = Spitfire monofoil

First of all I would like to apologize to Horst Sergio for a new monofoil thread. Thats my way of lobbying for the care hydrodynamic engineers should take about monofoil proffesional adaptation for ordinary kiters. As Horst presented already, mono has many advantages: safety, price, simplicity, weig...

Re: Monofoil or "riding stabless", setup and riding

Thank you, Sergio for wings details. I am to try Spotz Tuna wing yet. Will post results. I’m beginer to monofoiling. Just started 2 weeks ago. My speeds are much lower. I try to move my front foot back at higher speeds and it helps, but only a little. Should moove back my rear foot rather? Next time...

Re: Monofoil or "riding stabless", setup and riding

Yesterday tried front XXL wing. A bit higher speed was needed and it become quite comfortable. Also max speed was higher making comfort speed bandwidth wider. So, tried carver once again. Success. I liked this wing the most. Widest speed bandwidth. So tried Zeeko carbon race wing. Succes. Rideble. T...

Re: Monofoil or "riding stabless", setup and riding

Hi, ronnie. In my first movie low motorboat speed was main reason of stall. The software is very interesting, but for our purpose it lacks wing momentum graph/calculations at varius speeds. But front XXL wing may be a good idea, as it looks more cambered. I will try as soon enough wind will come. Wi...

Re: Monofoil or "riding stabless", setup and riding

After four learning monofoil sessions done with back XXL Spitfire foil and 13m Sonic 2, I tried to ride behind a motorboat. Didn’t expect it would be as easy. Start speed some 8-10 knots, max about 15. With higher speed the nose dives, not easy to prevent it. For me it looks reason is that COP canno...

Re: Bar recommendations

During turns one side of the bar sheet in ( slowing this side of foil kite), the other sheet out (a little less slowing another side of foil kite) resulting in pivot turn easy seen on sonics. Foilholio avoid it by grabbing steering line to turn. Another way could be to sheet bar out just enough to k...

Re: Chrono V1 tip tucking

Well to increase depower you increase ZBC in the same ratio as the mixer 4:2:1. ....... But you may find your B and C are not quite correct doing it that way. foilholio, shuld it be rather ZCB and not ZBC in relation to ratio 4:2:1 I made Z longer by 5 cm and A shorter by 2. Now my Pulsion 18 depow...
