Re: Kestrel Pansh in ultra light fabric

Yes Regis, exactly. If you are unable to relounch in light wind, allow your kite to loose some air through bigger holes. After few min fabric become loose and LE will jump up after your front line sharp pull. I usually erperience less water inside and it will drain up to 9 times faster. I made the s...

Re: Kestrel Pansh in ultra light fabric

relaunch in less wind (but only if you relaunch it quiclky, because kestrel seems more watertight. I had the same feel until elarged almost 3x drain holes in Kestrel 18 They help to reduce amount of the air inside the canopy to the level, when kite profile can become „ broken” , easing uplift of th...

Ordering 2 weeks ago may have missed the Batch 1 cut off, Batch 2 isn’t being shipped until late January 2024.
Thank you for that suggestion.
Do I want to wait so long? Without any info from them?
Not sure.

Re: Kitefoiling with Foil Drive assist

Hi Foildrivers,
Anybody know what is going on with the company?
After I paid for Foil Drive gen2 two weeks ago, they stopped respond to my emails.
Are they still alive?

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

Im dying of laughing... … - put the foil kite in a drink and it will be N times more in weight … ….An LEI will survive way way more then an ultralight foil in water. And not to mention a front stalls and tomahawking. My Soul ripped 9 panels, that is 950 Euros cost to fix. Or good elbow grease. You ...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

To develop the elbow issue, it is combination of large bar stroke and high bar pressure with slow turn kite. A high bar pressure on itself is ok, as long as the kite turns quickly with little stroke. Normally the tennis elbow effect develops, from turning, and sending kite agrassive with large slow...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

If giving more or less camber, most of the time you want more change on B than on C, or only Change of B. Which is not possible by changing Z. If you really want to only change one line to trim mixer, I think changing A would be a better option. But still, I would work with B+C only. It's the prove...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

Thank you Oliver, for clear explanation. . I appreciate your care about less experienced kiters. It's rare nawadays, so carry on. My mixer knowledge is at the begining, but having a lot of bad experience with other brand kites in gusty conditions, I am amazed with Kestrel performance, even if uninfo...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

I didnt understand why you talk about Z... my advice don't. 🤔 Because I am amazed by so many possibilities, I can adjust Kestrel to present conditions. Today was 12–20 knots, but later on dropped to 9 -14, and I was unable to start after a poor landing. Lengthening Z was a session saver and gave me...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

you've found why z is also called "brake" by some designer. kestrel can fly very well and faster without z at all. (because it's more arch shape, and the z tension is kept a little like a tube kite) it will be faster, and if you've lenghten b, it will be a good foil kite. but you 'll miss low speed...
