Re: A little motor on the foil-board for swimming in/out

I might have imagined you would need MORE power for an emergency rescue than for riding - dragging the riders weight plus a wet, badly wrapped, waterlogged kite (I'm thinking foil kite) would require a lot more power than a rider lying cleanly on top who can also paddle with both hands to assist. I ...

Re: Predictions for Ram Airs in 2017

Predictions ?? Businiss as usual... Walk of shame.. http://i63.tinypic.com/9ptm53.jpg Nothing to see in this pic... this is how they are supposed to look just before you relaunch them. But if you look in the background - is that two crashed LEIs? How do you relaunch those when you can't reverse the...

Re: Swim out and drift launch with a foil board techniques

Could you wear a pfd to make easy floating, then swim out with everything but tow the foil on a long line, then do everything like already described ? I'm just thinking of having to avoid going back to shore. Otherwise I can't imagine any alternative if there is no where onshore to lay your kite out...

Re: Sector 60

Shouldn't be too hard to find out the thread and then just experiment with lengths to find what fits. I'd guess and start with m6 size in 316 stainless, and yes I'm sure mine had washers too. If you went to a proper fixings retailer instead of a hardware store I'm sure they will help you find which ...

Re: Hydrofoil 4 bolt sliding mount help needed

Exactly what Gunnar and TomW wrote. Don't just rout out the board for each box - the board foam is not strong enough. make a much bigger insert out of Core-Cell glued around and between the 2 chinook boxes - this also helps keep the tracks parallel and desired spacing. Then glue that whole thing int...

Re: I suck at jybes

The downwind slalom is exactly the right idea ! I ride with a seat harness hence a slider helps with rotation. But a loose waist harness would also work. Same as we would use in waves on surfboard. Another good one to try is the toeside waterstart - starting sitting In The regular position and rotat...

Re: I suck at jybes

Whether or not I'm foiling on board on watering I crash the same. Kite seems to yank me off board. If I try to carve to toeside I get around loose speed then seem to have board pointing too far down wind to get foiling again. Almost like a toeside waterstart but badly. Do I need more speed and mayb...

Re: I suck at jybes

That is excellent progress in such a short time Plummet and makes me feel like I must practise more ! I want to try that 2 feet close together stance I think. I still have to touchdown for the foot switch, then pop back up and foil around for the rest.
