Re: Mike's labs foil

Hi queneseb, like the guys said... if you have to ask..... Have you done your homework ? He clearly says on his website that "Mike builds foils and boards for past and present world champions." Being able to choose your clients is a wonderful privilege in life and not something you can cri...

Whats the problem with covered vents?

In snow, ice crystals form on the mesh that eventually block the airflow, which one would imagine affects internal pressure and therefore stability of the kite.

Re: Hydrofoiling has ruined me a bit.

Doldrums is not quite the right word but I definitely reached a point where I was over the racing / speed side of things. Natural talent hit its limits after12 months or so and I needed more than 1-2 sessions a week to progress and move up in our local club results. Every session became a crash fest...

Re: A little motor on the foil-board for swimming in/out

no props to worry about Props, impellers, whatever. Moving parts around bridle lines is whack. Yup. Heard the story of someone seeking a foil kite, Tom it out for one last ride...dropped it in the drink, a helpful jetski came to help and sucked the lines and bridle up into the intakes and impeller ...

Re: Best wing for 8 knots Moses Silente

What line length you running ? My buddy and I are regularly riding a 5m lei as a one kite quiver (almost) using lines from 20-35m.

I bet if you add 6-10m extensions you'll dramatically improve the low end of your 12. Cheaper than a new wing too.

Re: Approach to beach?

Im not sure there is any science to it - I pretty much do exactly what you describe. I rode as high as I dare and usually try and follow a wave in - sitting just behind where it's breaking and avoiding the foam as best I can. (It's kind of funny how the whitewater feels when foiling - very rumbly th...

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

My attempts at turning from healside to toeside happen easily but faster than I can control kite at moment, but feel somehow more relaxed.. This is the fun part - the spitfire for me also can turn much faster than I'm used to, and I've now just bought a small 5m lei to keep up in our summer sea bre...

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

Airsurfer - from my experiences with carbon race foils its usually the trailing edges that make the noise. Sanding with 400 to 600 wet and dry usually cleans all sharp edges up and stops the noise. Seeing as this in an aluminium mast same as other zeeko foils which are quiet maybe it's the wings in ...
