Re: strapless hydrofoiling from the beginning on a zeeko spitfire

Well done ! How many hours do you estimate you have spent in the water thus far over the 3days ? Sounds like you are a quick learner. I couldn't manage much more than an hour at a time When I learnt. After at least 5 hours It started to come together on 1 tack and after 10 hours I felt like a hero b...

Re: Flysurfer Cronix still worth buying?

I have an 8 and still use it. Turns fast and I can ride SB or foilboard on it fine. Not into TT or freestyle so can't comment about jumping but this was its original intended use I think.

Re: Big TT or Surfboard for lightwind?

This is a good and very common question and one that comes up almost weekly on our local forums seabreeze.com.au. Here in Perth we have a lot of ocean and not so much flatwater , and out season runs from October to March. Outside of that we have light coastal winds to contend with, and invariably pe...

Re: New foil from Ozone

Unity was a school kite if I remember. I've got 2 of them in the garage actually. I wonder where this fits in the scheme of things, because realistically a Flysurfer Speed 5 is a perfectly suitable kite for a beginner. I assume a chrono v2 is the same ? There are many reason why nobody offers a high...

Re: Kite anchor launch/land of a FS?

I totally agree with the previous 2 responses. Launching an "empty" or un-inflated FLYSURFER from dead downwind is a perfectly safe and reliable method in almost all conditions. I couldn't possibly imagine how a ground stake could make this easier or safer. Self landing a FLYSURFER solo by backstall...

Re: Sea conditions you'd give up foiling and oppt TT or surfboard

Only when I can't get off the beach - dead onshore, pounding shorebreak or too shallow. Otherwise always on the foil.

I generally don't kite now if I can't foil.

Re: 80kg/175lbs - FS Sonic2 11m will I foil at 6-7knots? Or do I need 13m2?

I haven't read the whole thread so apologies if I repeat what's already been said but in short the answer is "hell yes... But probably not with std 21m lines" If you already have an 11 don't waste money buying a 13. Buy some 15m and 6m extensions instead. Now I'm not saying this will be easy but if ...

Re: Filling out Quiver--light wind

Something cheap and Interesting for you to try - add between 10-20m of extra line length to your existing kite and see how much that improves your low end. I regularly ride a 5m kite now with 3 bars depending on wind - under 14 knots 36m lines, 15-25 kts with 27m and then 21 M after that. With a hyd...
