Re: PIQ North Kiteboarding

Xensr has been working with android wear for some time now. Main problem with the watch is making sure the application is locked such that it won't close mid session. The swipe controls on most watch apps can be mimicked by water running off the touch screen. Don't know if iWatch is the same or not....

Re: self launch - minimize kite damage

Its the walking up and then downwind that's the key. Keep tension on the front lines as you walk upwind to get it to sit up (kind of rolls over past the neutral point but sits on the front line tension safely) and then walk back downwind again to stop it surging forwards as it lifts off the ground w...

Re: North: Dice, Evo or Neo

Other way around. Would need to ride smaller. Its when he puts tension on the lines (loading up during a gust/ getting ready to send it) that the kite seems to pinch in at the front. Thought it was initially just the tired 2014 Dice we were flying and spent time rejigging the bridles back to factory...

Re: North: Dice, Evo or Neo

Neo. Look at the size of the riders on the Dice in their promotional stuff. They are all lightweights. The Dice works well for me at 78kg but even running high pressures, it starts to deform when my bigger friends ride them. Neo turns faster, jumps well, drifts well and has good low end. Hangtime is...

Re: Ozone Edge V9 vs OR flite vs Core XR5

The OR Flite could be described as pivot turning as it turns tightly (although I'd say its more wingtip turning) and doesn't generate as much grunt through the turn - hence its forgiving looping nature. Otherwise it has excellent hangtime and decent (if light) bar feel. If grunty loops are your thin...

Re: Fastest turning wave/boost kite

Liquid force Wow might be worth a look?

Review here from the forum: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2396636

Seems like its similar to the other kites here but with a narrower leading edge.

Re: fone bandit on 2017 north trust bar?

The risk comes from the bridle tuning. Its not simple to design a bridle that will prevent a kite from going into a spin if the QR is released during a turn. Flagging to 2 lines will even out the leading edge pressure and in most cases stop the kite from spinning. If your tow point for the single r...

Re: fone bandit on 2017 north trust bar?

The F-One monolith bar was still dual front line release on last years bar. As I said. You can take risks for yourself but its not responsible to take on risk for other people. Would you lend a car to someone if the ABS was broken? Sure the brakes work fine for most situations - and an experienced d...

Re: Bags - broken zips, crap pockets, any good replacements?

Same. IKEA bags. Cheap to buy. Zips seem to last as long as manufacturer bags (12-18 months) then I get another one for less than the price of a new zip. I have the large ones that have rucksack straps on. Pump fits in with the kite if need be. A couple of bungees and you can strap the board onto th...
